Sad to report the passing of Seamus Murphy.

Shay was one of the leading Irish collectors and well known for many decades.

He will be sadly missed. He was an expert in so many fields incl autographs. His programme knowledge and collection was superb.

A great man to chat to if you could get a word in edgeways.

He hosted many of the dealers in his home for the early years of the Dublin fairs (1980’s).

He didn’t just collect football memorabilia. He had an extensive GAA (Irish sports) collection and I only just heard film posters.

He had been ill and off the scene in recent years. He passed in February but collectors here have just found out.

So sorry to hear of his passing away.
Happy to have known Shay.
A nice guy, who was really down to earth.
May he rest in peace.
