Have Ebay changed their payment schedules again?
Buyer paid me Thursday morning but the funds are still 'processing'. I used to be able to withdraw within 12-24 hours.
Ebay must be making $$$ in interest on seller's funds! |

A private seller now gets the money two days after delivery is confirmed to them. That assumes that you are printing the postage labels from E Bay.
I use Royal Mail to print labels and so sale proceeds will remain "pending" and not available to me for about two weeks.
There was always going to be a price to pay for abolishing seller fees and it is becoming clear that E Bay will be using customers money to fund their working capital. Good business practice but a bit of a pain if you need the sale proceeds quickly. |

Although I'm not using Ebay at present it seems that unless you send everything tracked which is not economically viable in many cases then
payment will depend on the buyers feedback so Ebay know it has then been delivered. Many many buyers do not leave feedback unless it is negative,If no feedback how do Ebay then decide to pay out? The same will apply if you use a stamp and certificate of posting which protects the sender for low value items but is usually not tracked.
Perhaps someone would be kind enough to enlighten me , just in case I decide to use Ebay in the future. Thanks. |

Like it or not I keep coming back to the fact that, where can you find a ready-made world-wide audience of potential buyers, without advertising costs or selling fees?
Waiting 14 days for your money may be considered a fair exchange for many. |

massive step backwards as it worked well for years. Far too many timewasters and pedantic buyers.
Apart from items over £50 i won't be bothering anymore. |

I sell on a two week cycle throughout the year so waiting 14 days for pay-outs isn't a huge issue
What I'm not clear on is how the 4% buyer fees will play out (everything I list is via auction). Also I won't use the eBay postage service - I only ever charge the actual price of the stamps but eBay are going to try and ratchet up prices so they can make extra money on the postage.
My cut off will likely be £20 - anything less than that I won't bother listing |

Have you even considered how much better off you are now not having to pay any FVFs. _________________ Ipswich Town programmes required, please message me if you are able to help

FROM 4TH FEBRUARY EBAY HAVE INTRODUCED FEES TO SELLERS OF 75p PER ITEM PLUS 4% OF THE SALE. THAT'S JUST UNDER £1 EXTRA PER ITEM FOR THE PRICE OF ITEMS I SELL!!!
^^^ If this is an accurate appraisal of what has happened, why are sellers still listing items at 99p or £1? |

The fees are being introduced gradually(electronics first) and will be shown to the buyer as additional to the sellers fee therefore
99p + 75p + 4p(79p) = £1.78
I am sure it will be obvious to buyer & seller once the fee is introduced. _________________ Ipswich Town programmes required, please message me if you are able to help

Am I reading this right, they are bringing back sellers fees? |
Yes, but called "Buyer Protection Fees" so they can still claim private sellers can sell for free ! _________________ Ipswich Town programmes required, please message me if you are able to help

I cannot see anything on the E Bay Community posts about this.
If it has been announced I would have thought it would have been a hot topic. |

Ah but there are threads for "new buyer protection fees"
Please correct me if I am wrong but if I am reading this correctly these fees are paid by the buyer not the seller.
The impact for sellers will be less sales as E Bay are inflating the price with the additional fees, which make purchases less attractive. |

Private sellers are still in a better position than before free listings were introduced last September. _________________ Ipswich Town programmes required, please message me if you are able to help

Not really. eBay used to give you 100 listings every fortnight with an 80% fee reduction (so you paid around 3% in fees). Now every sale comes with a 4% fee, a 75p flat fee per item on top of that and up to a two week wait for funds
In addition the Buyer Protection Fee offers absolutely nothing to the buyers that they didn't already have. At least before the fees were fair and transparent |

Just wait until Ebay force you into a business account and the associated fees. _________________ Ipswich Town programmes required, please message me if you are able to help
