Some of the forum members may recall me lauding the publication of a Middlesbrough Programme Book circa six years ago. Collectively, we have provided an update, but this time the information and improved format will be spread over six limited books over a period of time. The books will illustrate the development of the Middlesbrough programme over the years as well as including selected away programmes and other programmes. Coverage of specific and sometimes landmark fixtures also appear.

The first of the six books is now available covering the period between 1899 to 1920. This A4 sized book has over 80 glossy pages featuring more than 150 images covering the first two decades of the twentieth century. In addition, new facts which have previously never been seen in the public domain from the first two decades of the twentieth century are featured including details of the very first game played on the hallowed turf at Ayresome Park.

Statistically, fixtures and results are included for the 1st XI and Reserves, including Friendlies, the North Riding Senior Cup & Shipowners Cup, with a plethora of other fixtures played at Ayresome Park. Previous unpublished fixtures and statistics involving Middlesbrough teams at all levels will be presented in the proceeding books.

With interest high, we expect exceptional local demand, but copies are available for all now. Enquiries and further details regarding the book can be made to one of my co-authors via the following link, www.middlesbroughfccollection.co.uk

Finally, a shameless plug for our new Flickr site which offers images of Middlesbrough home and away programmes dating back to the early 20th century https://www.flickr.com/photos/187311548@N07/albums There are many folders to peruse including one for the completists titled ‘1st Team Variants’ which shows programmes from the same fixture but with subtle differences.

Thanks for reading.

Sounds very interesting - can't see anything on the link to facilitate ordering a copy, though.
If you care to drop me a PM I'd appreciate it.
