OK you non Evertonians get the chance to remind us Toffees that we're deluded, hub-cap thieving Scousers playing hoofball in a delapidated stadium.. and beating the top two back to back from 0-1 down with some decent football.

Ball, Young, Dean, Southall...School of Science or Dogs of War?

So, next year's PL winners * or just a flash in the pan

*you might want to stick a fiver on Everton at 200/1 plus given the current form and our "24 year itch" (winning the league in 1891, 1915, 1939, 1963 and 1987..)

hehe, that's an interesting bit of creative numerology.

As for EFC, at the moment I would like them to do well. I think Moyes is excellent & he's got a great record of signing talent from the Championship and developing them. Of course that includes ex-Blade Phil Jagielka, probably the most popular Sheff Utd player since Tony Currie. Disappointed he left the Blades but it really was time for him to move on in order to take his game up to the next level.

I really want him to do well and was pleased that he went to a club like Everton rather than the likes of Wigan, Bolton etc.

Many Blades fans were gutted for him when his injury meant missing out on a cup final appearance especially after scoring the winning penalty in the semi-final. It really was sods law that should happen especially given his record of consecutive appearances for Utd (133 games an SUFC post-war record I believe).

Apart from Liverpool supporters, everyone has a soft spot for teams like Everton. It great when the big teams get beat but unfortunately only money buys the PL plus more money to stay there.
So unless everton can find a rich sponser they will only supply talented teenagers to the top 4 teams.
Rooney went, who's next ????
Great manager thou.......................
How about ground sharing with the team across town ? Now thats another subject.

Had a soft spot for em since I drew them in the pub FA cup sweep the year they beat Watford (84 I think).
The thing about them is they are either great or useless, no in between really.
More entertaining than most sides and they have one of the best managers in the country, I always like to see them do well, with the obvious exception.

When I was a callow youth I had lots of "replica" shirts - or something that passed for them way back when - probably from Jack Sharps in Liverpool. I used to have (read: pretend to be player for said team) Wolves, Newcastle and a few others. I seem to remember having a soft spot for Aberdeen (my brother went to school there), Hearts (name? maybe it was the Alex Young connection), Wolves, Tranmere (going to Prenton Park regularly on Friday nights), Arsenal (best mate at school), Swansea (mate at school, now fully paid up Man U fan!!) ..Derby (best mate at Uni) and no real animosity to any team (rivalry with Liverpool which now has become a little bit raw). Never liked a couple of teams (no names..) but you can figure it out - as they were noted for their (shall we say) no-nonsense style on the pitch in the early 70s

Still look out for Hearts result (and obviously Trannie) and maybe Port Vale (wife from Burslem) and Blackpool (son born there) - although I wouldn't particularly wish any team ill fortune.. ahem apart from perhaps, ahem, a couple of sides Smile

Even though they deservedly beat My club United on Saturday,I always hope they do well .Attended many matches @Goodison in the 50s ,and 60s ,and always a great atmosphere.
Good luck to the Toffees I say,a club steeped in tradition.I have always had a lot of respect for the fans since their impeccable behaviour that they showed at the Sir Matt Busby memorial at Old Trafford in 1994

I have always had a soft spot for Everton, I like David Moyes a lot as I think he has done a great job for Everton and seems to be a good guy. I also like Everton fans as they are very loyal and passoinate about their team.

Like em due to them being a bigger version of my club, ie play in blue and live in the shadow of their neighbours.
Hate em because I was at the cup final in the Watford end and they spoilt my day by winning.
So I voted "not bothered" as they cancell each other out.

Daft I know.

I don;t mind Everton, enjoy watching them V spurs at the Lane seen some crakcing games down the years between the two teams and the things that moyes is doing with a small squad and not much funds is tremendous, if he was at one of the big four he'd be getting rave reviews.

Still think the bets bit of business Everton done recently was get £18 mill for lescott the guys complete plop

£24M for Lescott, worth about £10M absolute tops.. proved in an England shirt he wasn't top class. Reflects well on Moyes how he turned him into such an asset.

Won't find an Evertonian anywhere who wasn't delighted with the price.. angry at Lescott's attitude and pleased as punch to get a player of the calibre of Heitinga to replace him.

Always like to see Everton do well (can't say I "follow" them as such) due to the Alex Young, Davie Weir and Gary Naysmith connections.

Also, Howard Kendall once gave me an Everton umbrella when I was in hospitality at an Everton v Wimbledon game back in about 1993 ish

regarding Lescott, I thought we did well to sell him to everton for 6 million. I was astounded, but very happy because of the sell on clause, when he went on for 24 million. There's no way he was worth that, never international quality, no way.

Having seen his attempts at playing for England, I have to agree.
