Its been on the cards for a while but Kings Lynn were wound up today. Shame for their fans but when will the people who run these clubs learn to live within their means?

No doubt a 'fans' club will be set up but its a real blow for that part of the country which should have the potential to sustain a league club |

I have to say that the times I have been to watch Hucknall there the last word I would use is 'friendly' I dont hold grudges though (very much).
With gates of around the 1,000 mark in the Unibond they really shouldnt have been in this mess.
From the Unibond Premier Worksop and Burscough could follow them, added to Blue Star who dropped out before the start of the season.

You surprise me when you say you were not made welcome as a Hucknall fan when visiting" the Walks", ialso visited Hucknall 2 or 3 pre seasons ago, good programme shop. |

This is quite shocking considering the size of their support. Went their with my local team from Kent a few years a go and enjoyed the visit.
Great shame _________________ Nuts and Bolts Web Design

That was probably unfair of me to say that, The only time I have had any real bother there was at a FA Cup 4th qualifying round game where a small minority of nobheads had a pop at us. They may have only been there cos it was a big game, every club atrracts them I suppose.
Other times they all seemed quite stand-offish, I think they had a bit of a 'big club syndrome'
Anyway, I didnt want to distract from the sad news for their fans, I feel for them greatly at this time.
Glad you enjoyed Watnall Road fella. We are generally regarded as the friendliest fans in the league, well we were when we were in the Conference North, the club shop does indeed have a large stock of programmes |

They join Newcastle Blue Star who went just before the season started. Due to both these teams going under, my local non-league team, Stocksbridge Park Steels will go well over a month without a home game, which in turn probably won't do their balance sheet much good. |

Yep, the knock on effect is not good. As I said in my other post its not looking good for Burscough and Worksop, if they go then Durham wont get relegated, proof that running a club properly (this season anyway) works.
Here is a list of non league clubs who have had points deducted this year due to financial mis management
Conference Premier
Salisbury
Chester
Conference North
Farsley Celtic
Northwich Victoria
Zameretto Leagues
Halesowen
Merthyr Tydfil
Bromsgrove
Ryman leagues
Harlow Town
Unibond
Kings Lynn (already gone)
Newcastle Blue Star (already gone)
Willenhall
How many more will there be after xmas? Loads I reckon! |

What's happening at Worksop? Didn't they get booted out of their ground? Where do they play now? |

Yes they got booted out of their ground by 'porn king' Paul Raymond's son who owns it. They shared with us (Hucknall) last season and are sharing with Ilkleston this season. There are rumours that their players are not being paid and that the club is struggling financially.
Shame as Worksop are one of the oldest clubs in the world but if they do go bust I suspect it would hardly get and media attention. |

Chester are in a right mess - and Salisbury, where I lived near for over 15 years, are also in trouble. I only went to one game, an FA Cup 4th QR against Lymington New Milton, they won 5-1 and Tubbs scored (he's still there I believe) to get a tie at Sheffield Weds where I think they were slightly unlucky to lose by 4-0. They have done really well to get from level 8 to level 5 in around 6 years and manager Nick Holmes did a decent job. I think they were getting over 1,000 a game - shame they've struggled of late.
Now if we're talking clubs in a real mess you need to get down to Devizes Town (also saw them play an FA Vase QF a few years back) - dire ground - 100 is a decent turn out, football wasn't much good either! |

Yeah, I noticed that they have been slapped with another transfer embargo. I thought they had satisfied HMRC that they would be paying the debt later this month. I have a lot of time for Hinckley and have enjoyed many a good day and evening there |

What is happening is they have 2 weeks to come up with £190,000 the management has said that the money will be there. They have said that they will be re-mortgaging property at its ground. If they fail to pay up by Feb 10th, they will almost certainly go out of business. |

Its a shame about Kings Lynn there were getting very good crowds. Boston United have let Kings Lynn season ticket holders go in free for Bostons home games which I think is very good of Boston United. |

Chester players refused to get on the team bus for their game away at Forest Green Rovers this week.
Chester Trading Standards have issued a Prohibition Order preventing Chester City's Diva Stadium being opened for the public and their game this weekend against Wrexham has been cancelled.
This is the end for Chester me thinks. |
