PREDICTOR LEAGUE 2020/21 RULES & FORMAT

THE FORMAT

The season will run for 35 Rounds.

We have 26 teams entered for this season, but if there are any stragglers that want to join before the season starts, I’ll add them to the Groups, so the numbers may change slightly.

THE RULES
1. 10 Matches per week to predict.
2. Correct result = 1point.
3. Correct Scoreline = 3 points.
4. Highlight one fixture for Double points.

Every week, I will select one of the chosen fixtures. Choose a goalscorer from that match and receive a point for every goal scored by that player in that game only. No restrictions on how many times you choose any player.

There will be four Divisions made up of six teams in two and seven in two.
I have just drawn the teams out of a velvet bag under strict FA supervision and without any bungs from anybody, although the offer of half a bottle of hand sanitiser and two used face masks was tempting.
Teams were drawn randomly and not by regions.

These four Divisions will run for 28 Rounds.
All points from the previous 28 rounds will be scrapped at this point and the new Divisions will start with clean slates for everybody.

After Round 28, we will end those Divisions with the top two teams in each Division progressing to a Final Group to determine the Title in THE PELE DIVISION. In this group each team will play each other once in head to head matches. The winners will receive three points, the losers none and any draw will be one point each. Goal difference will count in this Division determined from the scores in each match. If points and Goal difference are tied, the Golden Boot totals will apply, but will only be taken from the season from Round 29.

The remaining teams from the Divisions will become a new Division of thirteen teams – THE MARADONA DIVISION. The points from this Division will continue as accumulative totals as in the original four groups, but as stated previously, starting from scratch.

EVERY TEAM WILL COMPETE FOR THE WHOLE SEASON THIS TIME WITH NOBODY BEING ELIMINATED AT ANY POINT.

After another seven rounds, we will have our Ultimate Champions and our second tier Champions.

In the event of any teams being tied on the same points at the cut off point, the Golden Boot totals will be used as a tie breaker to determine who goes through. If they are also level, a play off match will be scheduled to determine.
The Knockout Cup will run at certain points throughout the season as normal.

Any Postponed or Abandoned matches simply become voided.

Predictions to be in before the first kick off. If you are late, only the games started before you enter will be invalid. There will be no free hit average if you forget completely this season.

Like last season, until lockdown destroyed my plans, I will normally avoid selecting Friday night matches, although the International breaks may be slightly different, so Saturday 3pm will pretty much be the norm for the first match every week.

Updated tables will be shown every Monday along with the fixtures for the following weekend.

Round 1 Fixtures will be uploaded on Monday 7th September

I've already thought of that.
Once I've posted the first set of fixtures an the other site next Monday, I'll put a reminder on here too
