'Wants lists' replies

Having a spare few hours recently, had a look at the 'Wants lists' of a few people on the forum. I looked at collectors who wanted Portsmouth programmes that I had spares off and contacted them with a PM.
No replies were forthcoming from anyone. I therefore ask, (1) have all the 'wants' been filled, (2) When a collector fills a gap, do they contact the forum to have the want taken off their list, or (3) why did I waste my time sorting out the programmes.

The wants list system was introduced MANY MANY years ago, a lot of the users are no longer active and those that are, I'd be surprised if they kept their lists upto date on that system.

Great idea, but never really took off, I feel you may have wasted your time. Although you might get lucky and have a response.

Recently I was contacted by Radboro as he had one of my "wants list". Deal done I now have the programme. Thanks Radboro.
As has been mentioned though many people who did a want's list probably never look at the forum any more.

Maybe I am an oddity. I assiduously keep my wants list up to date. I have been contacted several times by members including Chris Gibbs and have always replied. Chris was able to let me have a hard to get postponed game 3 years ago, for which I am eternally grateful.

Maybe there needs to be a 'spring clean' of lapsed members. A rainy day job for someone to go through the list and see who hasn't been active for some time.

I have had various goes at seeing if I can help people and about one in ten pays off....but I still try every now and again....

I have managed to help a few people...just done a couple of deal with Saints Clarkie but I do think the wants lists are not generally maintained.....people do them on arrival and then quite a few never go back...

If nothing else it is another way of seeing if anything you pick up might have some value...

Pompey v Aston Villa 27/4/55
Pompey v Sunderland Postponed 23/2/57 - if a programme exists
Sheffield Wednesday v Pompey 22/12/56 - if a programme exists.

Any assistance in finding these would be much appreciated.

My wants list is up to date (only need 3 on there now, 100s of reserves needed) always after saints reserves / youth programmes if anyone has any for sale ?

Thanks to pafcprogs (Peter) done a few deals with him over the past few years and filled some gaps.
