Hi
Can anyone help and advise based on your experiences
I have decided to sell some of my rare items through an auction house, but to be honest the ones i have looked at seem pretty similar.
I have put a few in FOOTBALL SPORTS AUCTIONS next one in March and am looking at sending some to FOOTY PROGS for their next auction in february.
Has anyone any experience or help they can pass on as to which house is the best to use going forward.
I have also been contacted by SPORTING MEMORIES and i am aware that SPORTING GOLD have auctions .So if anyone has any recommendations or experience of any of these or any others i would appreciate a quick reply.
Thanks

Hello Mate,

I guess it depends what you have for sale. The best auction house I have dealt with is Sportingold, drop Chris an email, ask him a few questions about valuations, charges etc, see what you think, contact a few more places, and make your mind up then.

You could always try ELR in Sheffield. Next programme auction is March 5th

Do they have a website or do you have any more info you could give me?

I sell through Sportingold and as said above Chris is a great chap, he has vast knowledge and offers a very professional service. You aren't too late for the Feb auction, I have some lots to go in too, but waiting for the snow to melt before I drive them round. It's best to get them to him at least two weeks before as the catalogue needs to be printed and then posted out.

ELR do have a website, I think its elrauctions.com. If you are just looking to put stuff in a local sale, they'd be good, but I think Sportingold is that bit more specialised, and would probably reach a much wider audience.

Thanks everyone.
I found the ELR website and from what i saw of their last catalogue it did seem to be mainly sheffield/rotherham based.
Also it seemed more focussed on the cheaper end of the market.
I think i will give sporting gold a try.I do have about half a dozen already in the next spotying memories/footy progs auction at stevenage.
Has anyone used them before? and has any comments
thanks

Post subject: Auction Houses...especially for rare programmes ?

I have sold through Mullocks and Graham Budd.

Are there better auction houses, and which one if any, are better for the very RARE programnmes.

Does it matter ? Sold an 1954 WC Final Programme through an auction house and didnt get anything near what I though it was worth.
Crying or Very sad
Any advice, ...thanks
