Anyone recognise this Rangers or Ipswich autograph from 1981

I have been trying without success to work out who signed this Rangers v Ipswich Challenge match programme from August 1981. Anyone recognise the signature? Your help would be appreciated. Regards Derek

Ally Dawson is the player on the cover the Rangers captain at that time, I think it's his autograph.
I will find out for sure.

It is Ally Dawson on the cover as Eck says but that’s not his autograph. Not sure who it is, I’ll need to dig a bit deeper on this one. Initially I thought it might have been John Wark but after checking it’s not his either.

I was at that game and have a copy of that programme.

One of the suggestions on the Rangers group was John Wark rushed autograph and after looking at a close up it does look like it.

A few Rangers autograph experts couldn't identify it so we may be looking at an Ipswich player.

I think it's John Wark - it looks very similar to a couple of signatures I have of his on Liverpool items (much moreso than the neater signature on that Maradona photo). I don't have the Liverpool bits to hand but will try and send an image as and when I can get to them.

Hi Thanks for your comments. This picture has the Ipswich UEFA cup team signatures which I have found on Ebay.

John Wark’s is near top left, just to left of ‘UEFA’. Looks a good match for the one on the Rangers prog.
