After the demise of all those well-known names on the High Street, we are now losing an icon in our hobby. Best of luck in the future and thanks for bolstering up my collection in the 80’s.

Best of luck in your retirement.

Aside from the programmes I bought at the games I attended, you were the first person I bought programmes from way back in the day.

You got me hooked on collecting back in 1980-something! Legend!
Loved my bargain bundles and reading every club programme within from cover to cover learning so much about the various clubs and just how football clubs are run

Hope you have a happy retirement.

I remember getting my Mum to do a cheque for about £5 when I was about 12 years old,
so I could order some programmes from you.
Villa v Dukla Prague friendly was one I seem to remember

Have a very happy retirement.

I bought my first bargain bundle from you in 1978 from which I still have the 1962 Scottish Cup Semi Final between St Mirren and Celtic !!!

Did quite a big deal earlier this year too !!!

Sure I bought some programmes from Steve in about 1974 and then when I started collecting again in the mid 90's there he was again to send me another bundle and I was amazed he was still trading - and that's 20 years ago.

Well done Steve, thanks for all your hard work and have a fantastic retirement - assuming you find a buyer.

Yep me too......I bought some circa 1976.

He must be thinking....with all these old punters I should start up again!

Seriously, enjoy a well earned rest, and would love you to contribute on the forum!

I bet you have a few tales to tell!

All the best Steve. I think l purchased some bundles off you in the 1960s. Were you on the scene that far back? Your version of ‘ Galway Girl ‘ ( check it out on YouTube if you haven’t heard it) is top notch as well Laughing

Like many, I obtained my first programmes (many years ago) from Steve. I've enjoyed frequent chats with Steve about the 'programme world' and always found him to be a honest and fair person with our regular exchange of programmes.

I wish you well in your well earned retirement.

I blame you for setting me off on an obsession that's taken over a room in my house! Those bargain bundles were just too tempting for a young teen!

Happy retirement

All the best for a long and happy retirement, have enjoyed dealing with you over the years!
Remember, old programme dealers never die, they just get archived!

Interesting read, thanks for posting. I always assumed Steve Earl looked a bit like his programme seller caricature - very short legs and 5 foot long arms...
