Blatant shill bidder

I have reported him to ebay and reported many of his items, ebay have not acted on it. His other account has had 99% of his bids with him and 347 bid retractions in the last 6 months. I noticed when he was bidding up an item I was after and removed his bid twice when he became high bidder.

Outrageous but sadly ebay is rife with it. The other trick is getting a mate or mate's ID to bid it up for you so even if ebay investigate then no obvious link between the two. Same thing has happened on arsenal tickets from a particular seller who has got his mate to run up the bidding. Its a joke really as most collectors know it but ebay won't do anything.

The way to combat it is, create a new ebay account using a hotmail/gmail account and make huge bids on all his items


Let him have fun doing incremental bids before finally hitting your bid and retracting. You can then kindly supply details to ebay and he will have his account removed

I would send him a message "Instead of bidding your items up, why not start your auctions at prices you will be happy to sell at?" Perhaps this hasn't dawned on him
