A number of people have been moaning about extravagant prices in a prominent dealer's catalogue. STOP PRESS!!! Check out collectsoccer.com for what must be the ultimate in price hikes, example 1996 FACup Final £240; 1965 FACup Final £75; 1937 FACup Final £1,400. The list goes on and on, watch and be amazed.

£240 for 1996!! Wasnt it about £150 at its height and ive seen a few people recently selling for about £60 and one on ebay the other day for just £30!!!

And a quick look on ebay shows that 1965 has sold 3 times this week for about £3-£4!!

People are always going to moan about prices, and i know you are one of the first people to put across the point that full time dealers need to make a living (I agree with you) but this is taking the p....

No doubt in my mind they are after a quick buck from people who are new to the hobby, maybe a bit too much money to spend and basically no knowledge of what anything is worth.

I have also noticed that most dealers who may generally have reasonable prices, set a price then stick to it. It means that a number of items in their catalogues are priced much higher than they would sell for today, especially if a number have appeared on ebay.

I think some dealers need to review their prices and reduce price for some items that may have sold for a high price just after the match, but just won't sell for much now.
