What is the date of the auction as the one they have on the saleroom for mid December has no football items?.

A nice accessible location!

I can see the logic in keeping it as one collection rather than splitting it up.

At the lower end of the estimate, that works out at £26,000 per cap. I don't know about you lot but that seems vastly overpriced.

It is. Even being optimistic on values, I would have said it is at least 4 times what I would expect them to sell for in a higher profile sports auction.

I would offer to go and pick them up for any successful bidder from this forum, but I'm still 70 ish miles away!

Trust me-the serious bidders will be there to view or will have had condition reports well in advance of the auction-a few 100 miles is not going to deter anyone or football club with that kind of money to invest one iota-for mere mortals like myself it saves the disappointment that it is not my club or any player associated as MUFC and others have deeper pockets than mine for sure. Nod

But for the actual items what a fantastic haul-the likes of which will never been seen again[until they are auctioned YET again in the future if they end up with a private buyer no doubt].

Items such as this deserve to be on display for the general footballing public for sure not locked away in a dusty old cupboard just so that someone can hide their "investment" away for 10 years-all of which quite naturally is just IMO.

Totally agree with your sentiments Leslie - it would be nice to see them on show. You never know, we may get lucky.

I also agree about the buyer or agent being on site for the auction. I couldn't see anyone trusting any form of carrier system to pick up and deliver items of this value safely. Thumbs Up

Seems like a healthy return, even if it failed to make estimate. There's mentioned of 'medals' in the article, but no indication of what the medals were.

Did they sell? Hammer price was below the bottom estimate but it depends what the reserve was.
