To the original poster Kev

Who came on here in good faith as not knowing what to do with his late Uncle's collection.

My four programmes have just arrived this morning.

Thank you for taking my advice on how to package them.

Thank you for four excellent items all in top condition.

Thank you for considering taking the time to make a post on these shark infested waters (well only a very small minority of sharks Laughing )

I hope the experience hasn't put you off.

Regards

Dave

A great example of why this forum should be a more welcoming place, although to be fair it generally is apart from one or two bad apples Thumbs Up

I'll say this once again Bishphamseasider as you may have missed it.

I came back on this forum last year after having a sabbatical for over 3years

due to domestic reasons.

I joined the forum in 2009 when I came back after this lengthy absence

I found certain members cold and derogatory because they thought I was a new member!

I said it at the time so I don't need to reiterate my stance.

I was reminded of this when 'kevthehammer' posted the other day trying to get advice.

BAZZA was up to his usual shitty behaviour and nearly put the poor guy off!

Luckily there are far more genuine top bloke's than idiots on this site.

So to answer your question YES I do have the balls to call people out who are out of order!

That's fair comment hydemaine but who are the small minority of sharks still on this forum. I'd be interested to know but not really bothered if you are unable to name names.

a minority can be one Bishpham ?

already we see a top bloke come back on here tonight after an absence.

Maybe you didn't like the 's' on the end of sharks as it's plural?

Plural usually means more than one hydemaine but I'll take your word you were only referring to bazza and that the forum is OK for the time being.

exactly I was highlighting my typographical error for you.

No everything has calmed down now but they obviously still remain.

I think it was probably the culture at that time.

I had no idea what had gone on in the 3 years I was off this forum to explain why people had become so suspicious of new posters.

I get that people come on here to find out a value of something they've found
in Grandad's loft and it can annoy some people that they only post once.
But some of the vitriol was uncalled for.

That's why there's a valuation section. If it pisses you off that they're only going to post once....well just don't reply.

No

I do not wish to take issue but OR does suggest more than one.

If you had said one bad apple-matter closed but you did say one or 2 which does in a teen weeny way kinda imply and allude to the fact there could be another apple that is bad Nod
still it appears not to be moi, unless ur being polite so I guess it is not going any further Shake

It suggests there may only be one, or there could be two.

I've not been counting, and I don't like apples, but you're alright Laughing

Hi Kev, I just wanted to say that your late Uncle has amassed a fine collection of programmes down the years, and that all programmes have a value.

Thanks for putting the list together, and please could you edit/update the list so that I can see what is still available after your sales, as I am interested in a couple.

Kind regards from Nick.

I agree with sellsell - a collection is often unique to the individual and does not necessarily have to contain expensive or rare items. That is what is great about our hobby.

I'm writing an article for the latest issue of Derby County Memories (formerly Derby County Memorabilia) entitled 'Top 5 items in my collection'. My personal top 5 features three modern programmes; one from 1993, one from 1996 and one from 2014. Whilst they may be viewed as 'modern tat' to some, I was born in 1981 and all three programmes bring back particular memories. I would imagine the memories will only become stronger as I get older.
