This should be a really good fair - the venue is a spacious one with plenty of parking - and it's easy to find - just off Dunstable Road.
The list of dealers present ensures there will be a huge variety of items on view - something for everyone.
With it's proximity to the M1 it should attract collectors from all over Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire, Hertforsdhire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and all the north-west section of greater London.

Just packed about 6,000 photos into 5 large cases ready for tomorrow's fair, I'd forgotten I had some of them and there is real photographic treasure*** among them. There's also about 300 brand new items not yet on the website, just arrived into PPP Towers.

I regret I've had to leave a few behind and what's the betting the inevitable happens - "Do you have any Evesham Town or Forfar Athletic?"

In addition to all these football photos there's a hamper full of cricketers, from Derbyshire to Yorkshire, from Australia to the West Indies.

So if you're coming along, please look for the Palace sash kit and that'll be me!

And this 60's equivalent of laughing gas

And The Don

I hope to meet some of you there.

Totally devastated but I've had to pull out of this today.

My partner Bet is ill with Meniere's Disease, it is terrible and she needs nursing through it, it's her first attack for over a year, she feels worse about me dropping out than I do.

I am so sorry to anyone that was gong there today with the intention of meeting me and who knows, maybe buying some of the thousands of photos that are loaded in my car.

I will continue to acquire and treasure press photos so rest assured you haven't heard the last of me, even though there's an empty table today.

Thank you Holtie, Leslie and Wanderpaul (plus Sharrowblade via PM) for your good wishes - late update is she's a lot better but is staying in bed all day. I fell asleep watching the marathon.

My friend John Collison was at the Fair today - he left early and counted a handful of attendees only. It would be good to hear from others what they thought and how it all went.

Hi Pete,

Hope your wife gets better soon.

I had a stall fair at the fair today although I didn't sell as much as i would have liked I managed to pick up some bits & pieces for my own collection so I cannot complain.

Hiya,

Just back from the fair. Had a great time. Lost of banter between the stall holders Smile

Had a word with most stall holders and we think the attendance was just over the 50 mark.

Its a start and will give it a go again next year when it will hopefully build up Smile

Andy

Are these fairs worth the effort anymore? Let’s face it, 50 through the door is pitiful and a slap in the face for the effort the stall holders put in to attend. Out with the two big London fairs, are there any fairs that attract more than 200 through the door these days? EBay and regular auctions appear to have largely killed interest in the traditional fair, there are none in Scotland anymore.

I’ve said before that there are other hobbies that have a big annual showpiece event, spread over a weekend with guest appearances, signing sessions, displays, auctions etc combined with a traditional fair. Perhaps a bit too big for our hobby but maybe time to try and think outside the box? Football is pretty popular afterall……and as Graham Budd shows, no shortage of money.
