I have a Sheffield United programme from the 1960s, it has rusty staples, water stained, team changes, halftimes filled in, and someboy has got 7 down in the crossword wrong. Add to that a split spine, and the back page appears to be missing. I bought it for 10p last week.

Does anyone have an idea of value?

You were mugged, Laughing of course if it was a Wednesday programme, it would be worth more as bigger clubs are more collectable Razz

Would it be worth more if '7 down' in the crossword was correct?

Is it a "rare" programme like nearly half the listings on EBay seem to be these days?

You can have your health, wealth, a nice house, BMW, a trophy wife and great kids but a 1960s with rusty staples AND writing shows you just can't have everything in life!

Seriuosly, I seem to remember a post on this forum about a guy who can fix all those "faults" for you - may cost it bit - but if it is something close to your heart with high sentimental value it may be worth trying! Thumbs Up Sad

i think you should pm dangerman. i know it is difficult, but he may well be able to help you to realise a realistic value for this gem.

Ordinarily, I'd agree and Dangerman would indeed be my first port of call, but I don't think he'd be interested as it isn't signed by 27 different players and three of the ball boys. Although the dark mark on page 5 could be the paw print of the chairman's spaniel. Would this make it a collector's item?

Are you sure that the water stain isn't tea?

I'll give you 15p for it. You can't knock a 50% profit.

As long as you pay P&P.
