i thought it was Lee Sharpe-had a look about him to me, do not think Torquay ever played in stripes though Sherlock

Yes i know this is a guy from the 1970's but as i say he had a look of Lee Sharpe at the end of his career-anyway at least i made an effort.

Huddersfield Town player who also played for Yorkshire CCC?

At this point i will not make any more predictions as they are as good as my score forecasting-ask Sharrow-he says i am hapless and he is not wrong! Laughing

No guesses from me sadly Pete.
His face has a familiar look about it, but I'm stumped tbh.

(I'm notoriously terrible with faces at the best of times, my own boyhood heroes could walk past me in the street and I wouldn't recognise them)

Regarding the team though, I thought Stoke initially - but then thought your answer about "too far West" to Leslie was a bit of a clue.
So I'm thinking Southampton?

I had this photo for 3/4 days, no name on back, and even though I knew which team it was, it didn't dawn on me that it was this particular player and then the seller confirmed it was him.
