Anyone help please? I've spent hours trawling the internet trying to find out who & when Hereford played in their last home match, and last away match from the 71/72 season, before they won promotion to the football league?

Herefords' last home was v Margate. I will try to find it and look up what the away was as it will be in the prog. Have you tried Statto com? It has the results of all league and cup games back to the year dot. Although the blue Square is in, it does not go back to the 70's when it was the Conference or whatever it was called then.

I use statto a lot, but it only lists cup matches & no league matches for 71/72 rather annoyingly. If you could find out and let me know, I'd be most grateful.

That was a busy season for Hereford, I make it that they played 79 competitive games in 1971/2 !

In April alone they played 14 games, 1st Folkestone (H), 3rd Bath (H), 5th Barnet (SLC) (A), 8th Barnet (SLC) (H), 12th Romford (A), 15th Bedford (H), 19th Weymouth (H), 20th Worcester (BCL) (H), 22nd Bedford (A), 24th Redditch (WSC) (H), 26th Gravesend & Northfleet (H), 27th Worcester (BCL) (A), 29th Margate (H), 30th Wigan (HSC) (H). Beat that.

Last away game in the League I think would have been against Barnet on 4 May.
