Were you a true cricket fan, you'd realise that the game is administered by the England and Wales Test and County Cricket Board, ergo, there is no England cricket team...it's just bloody lazy journalism and more than a little of the old colonial streak (selectors never crossing the River Severn - or even visiting Gloucester, home of said river)
Glamorgan C.C.C. is my team, and I support them through thin and thinner. Am lucky enough to have witnessed two County Championship wins, and am looking for a third. Surrey???? Piss on them......

We have not had such a bad day today
Are you forgetting players like Butcher, Thorpe, Stewart, Ramps, Bicknell, Hollioake, we had some very good teams throughout the nineties and one a few trophies along the way.

Not forgetting any of them, but if they'd played for Glamorgan they'd never have got a look in for England and Wales. Ferchrissakes they were still picking players from the Home Counties to represent England and Wales last year when they were bottom of the 2nd division......A good schooling, and a Home Counties address still, unfortunately, speaks far more about you than any cricketing prowess does as far as test selection is concerned. Imagine if Matthew Maynard, Steve Watkins, Robin Croft and others had played for Middlesex or Surrey, they'd have 100 caps each.

Yes big fan. Used to be junior member of Surrey in 80s. Good times....players like Edrich, Butcher, Intikhab, Roope, Sylvester Clarke etc. Also always had a soft spot for Lancs. Probably because of their Gillette cup exploits in 70s and such entertaining players as the Lloyds, Engineer, Wood, Pilling, Hughes etc. I don't go as much these last few years but get in the odd day plus try and get to at least one test match day.

David Hughes, the first real one day specialist. Would probably captain England now at the one day game. Remember that thrilling one day semi final against Gloucester when he biffed Proctor all over the place, in the dark, to win with about 2 balls to spare?

If I remember correctly that finished about quarter past 9 at night. A thrilling semi. Also remember a great game a few years later between Lancs and Surrey when Clive Lloyd could barely move with a bad leg so demolished Surrey with an innings of 80 odd comprised primarily of 4's and 6's.

A great win for Warwickshire the other day
The first test match between England and Sri Lanka is in a few weeks time.

Cricket is my favourite sport. Born and bred in Lancashire....I am a life member of Northamptonshire CCC!! The mighty Steelbacks are my main sporting love, and my ambition is to see them win the County Championship befor I kick the bucket. We should have won it in 1995 - in fact in any other year we would have won it but Warwickshire were outstanding that year even though we beat them at Edgbaston in what is widely regarded as the greatest County Championship match ever played.

Great start to the season with a godd draw at Surrey and a thrashing of Kent. As for Lancashire - the most overrated side in the country - have not won the Championship outright since 1934, and possess the most arrogant, deluded fans on the circuit - mind you, look where the ground is!

I grew up in the era of Ollie Milburn and Roger Prideaux, surely the best opening partnership in the County Championship in the 60's, backed up by Musthaq Mohhammed in mid order and David Steele. If they'd have had the depth in bowling, Larter apart, that their batting had they'd surely have won the County Championship by noo.
