Hi,

I have a programme for Manchester City Reserves v Everton Reserves played 27th January 1934.

The everton team was Coggins, Bocking, Groves, Mercer, Clark, Archer, Geldard, Higham, Litherland,Watson and Turner.

I assume that is future City and England manager Joe Mercer.

yes, that would have been Joe Mercer. Also in that team was Albert Geldard, who went on to have a successful career with Everton and won 4 England caps.

regards, Mark

Thanks, I thought it must be.

My records show that City won the game 4 - 1.

My Dad made his debut in the game for City having been signed from Bristol City for £3,500. I have become the custodian of his memorabilia, programmes, medals, press cuttings and various bits and bobs.

Regrettably the one item that was lost when my parents house was destroyed by a bomb in WW2 was the Scotland shirt worn by Jimmy McMullan when he captained The Wembley Wizards, the famous Scotland team who beat England 5 - 1 at Wembley. He and my Dad were firm friends.

How much that shirt would be worth now is anyones guess.
