The mighty Auchinleck Talbot did the biz on Saturday, comfortably winning 3-1 at Bo'ness in the 2nd leg of the semi final, giving us a 5-1 aggregate. Absolutely immense. EEKA PEEKA PUKKA PO.
If anyone fancies the Final, it will be a cracking day out. Our opponents are Musselburgh who are in their first final. We are massive pre match favourites in the bookies at 1/4, which I hate. Much prefer going into such games on an equal basis. If nothing else, go and treat yourself to watching 5,000 plus folk singing EEKA PEEKA PUKKA PO! You'll never see anything like it again.

Hopefully Musselburgh can pull off a shock victory, can't be doing with these big teams winning it all the time Thumbs Up

Big teams? There's an interesting posting on the Talbot website tonight from the bookies odds before the Junior Cup kicked off this year.
Talbot were joint 4th favourites.
Favourites were Irvine Meadow, pumped 3-1 on their own midden in the 6th round.
Joint second favourties were Linlithgow Rose, beaten 2-1 at Talbot after a 2-2 draw at their bit.
Other joint second favourites were Bo'ness, pumped 5-1 on aggregate in the semi final.
Just goes to show the bookies aren't always right, and if Talbot do lif the Cup on May 29th then there will be one hugely sad bookie in the village who saw tons of bets going on at 14-1 for Talbot. As they did in 2006 and 2009, and the 6 other wins prior to that.

Aye, big teams Thumbs Up

In 1992-93 season I recall Musselburgh were the laughing stock of the East Region, finishing rock bottom of the league with something like 12 points from 28 games, playing at a complete dump of a ground and being watched by nobody. They almost folded.

They have slowly dug themselves out of that hole despite a few blips along the way and it's good to see one of the small guys get their day in the sun, and hopefully more (I would be saying that if they were playing Bo'ness or Meadow - nothing against Talbot mind!).

It's very much the equivalent of a Celtic v Hamilton Cup Final.

Or a Partick Thistle vs Celtic League Cup Final, that's my nagging doubt.
