got fed up of being bullied and bruised.

My boss paid me the minimum. Expected me to work with less than 5 minutes notice. And for the past 7 months he's repetedly banged into me including aggressively assaulting me with his elbow. He has burnt my arms many times. AND he's just geeral had a go a me for no reason at all for the past 5 weeks. For a straight 11 hours. So im sick of it.

Was doing nearly 45 hours and only getin around £140.

BTW i worked in a chip shop

Surely that's illegal? Ring that number that appears in bus shelters about the minimum wage.

Was the £140 take home pay? There are different levels of minimum wage for different age groups. You can access all the relevant info on the ACAS website. If you have a claim you'd be able to work it out from there, or if not, get along to your nearest Citizen's Advice Bureau. Re your allegations of assault, that's a criminal offence, and it might be worth your while speaking to a solicitor (or again, bring ip up at the C.A.B.)

Highly unlikely, constructive dismissal's a modern day myth. Less than 2% of all claims to an Employment Tribunal are successul (that's 1 in 50!) and if he hasn't used his employer's internal grievance procedure in the first instance it would be nigh on impossible to claim. The lad needs specialist advice.
