Unbelievable, never knew he was really ill, so sad. Thought he was an excellent defender.
RIP

Decent player when he went to Spurs. Doesnt actually say what he died of, what was this illness?

Nevertheless, RIP Dean.

Not sure mate, seems a bit strange that they haven't said what caused his death.

He died of a brain tumour, had been unwell for a long time. I knew him as he was a Bradford lad, lived locally after stopping playing. Passed away in a Leeds hospice.

Not good news at all.
I hear the Wolves v Spurs game is going to be dedicated to him, which is nice as i'll be there to pay my respects.

The minute applause from all the fans at todays game was superb. Wolves and Tottenham fans alike all singing Deano, theres only one Deano was wonderful. His wife and two boys on the pitch bought a lump to my throat I must say. It must have been so difficult for the young lads to keep it together, but the must be even more proud of their dad tonight if thats possible by seeing the effect he had on so many people.
As a side note, representitives of the four clbs he played for held shirts aloft in the centre circle during the minutes applause. These shirts are to be signed by the current players of each respective team and are to be auctioned off. The proceeds of the sale are then being given to the hospice at which Dean died. I thought that it was a nice gesture from the clubs to do this.
Oh and the game itself was one of the best I have seen at the Molineux for many years. A fitting tribute in itself.
