Post subject: Programme Monthly to become Programme Quarterly? |

After previous articles in Programme Monthly, the editor is apparently still looking for somebody to take the publication forward.
Another article is published in this month’s Programme Monthly, part of which reads as follows;
A number of readers have been in touch with the editor following the two brief articles over the last 6 months asking for people to come forward who may, in turn, take the magazine forward. Several of you have done that, without anything concrete emerging. What hasn’t happened is that one person has identified him or herself in a position to take over all the roles performed by the editor / publisher.
What has emerged, from the interest to date, is that a number of you may be interested in taking on one or other of the three main tasks in publishing the magazine, namely editing the content and perhaps separately laying it out and preparing it for printing.
A new format is also long overdue and it could be that the magazines future is along the lines of a thick, glossy, colourful magazine such as Groundtastic. Towards the end, it may be that Programme Monthly has to become Programme Quarterly. |

No comment on that other than I hope it remains a monthly.
What caught my attention in the March PM was Sheffield Wednesday's handling of their postponed home programme vs Yeovil.Instead of sending all subscribers a copy, they sent them a letter saying all but 50 programmes had been destroyed and they had the opportunity to buy one at £50 plus £1.50 postage.What a shitty thing to do.If my club did that after I'd paid in advance for a season's programmes then it would be the last time they got a subscription from me.Surely one of the reasons for paying in August for the following seasons programmes is to be guaranteed the postponed games? Well it is in my case although we've not had a home postponement since the 2005/06 season. |

What you have to remember though about Sheff Weds is that they have Mad Mandaric in charge, and he will take the money whilst he can. |

That sort of thing is in fact illegal. If you have paid in advance for an item at an agreed price then that is a contract to supply. If the item is not available you should be compensated but the company can't change the terms of the contract mid-term.
The may be terms to allow them to not supply or to increase the price midterm but under fairness such a large rise would be seen by any court as exessive.
It should be reported to the comsumer rights. |
