Have just taken delivery of a small number of Wigton and Bladnoch vs Buckie Thistle programmes from this season's Scottish Cup. The club were obviously taking the piss when they charged £2 each for them. They are glossy 8 page affairs, and the pages are filled with not much, but all in large type. Have never seen such a blatant rip off. However, they are thin on the ground and likely to be collectable so it might not be so bad after all?

Some of the early AFC Wimbledon away programmes were shockers too.

One that stands out in my memory was at Withdean 2000 (or Withdean £2000 as they became known to us) who issued a couple of folded pages of adverts and a line-up inside a pre-printed cover, for £1 in 2002.

This almost helped caused a riot when the visiting fans found out that not only had the admission prices increased (the usual "more stewards required" argument over-ruling the "extra 1000+ fans at a Park+1 game"), but that the programme was also double the price of a similar effort for their last midweek home game. The tipping point was the above price scheme was in effect unless you knew the gate-man, in which case you got in for the normal price and paid the usual price for the programme.

Substandard and over-priced, never a good combination.
