I have had a good search through the site and cant find what I am looking for.
Over the weekend my grandad gave me a Chelsea v Charlton Div 1 Sep 28th 1946.
It is a single sheet programme in ok condition but it is quite fragile due to the cheap war/post war paper used. The size of the programme is 250mmX185mm.
I am looking for a protector. I have seen comic collectors use them for their items but am unable to find any.
Not a frame as such. Totally transparent and not too thick. Perfect fit for a piece of paper. Could be air tight I suppose.
As you can tell I have not really got a clue what I am looking for
Hope that makes sense and hopefully one of you can help
Thanks |

I think you was hearing things.
And just for your information, I am not the seller. I was genuinely looking for something and came across it on another forum. Also, if you can use ten then yes it is worth it. |

I think you misunderstand the post about the seller. I think he is saying that the seller was saying thank you to you at the price he is selling them for. I think you also posted about needed something for the 1 programme you mentioned, so it was merely a logical question to ask if it was worth buying ten. I'm sure if you only needed one, someone would have sold you one cheap, or let you have it for nothing if you'd asked the right person, in the irght way. _________________ PLEASE check out my Prostate Cancer UK charity auction page here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1550474568596587/ |

The ones I use, which are acidic free and don't attract condensation, and have been quite widely talked about on here cost me £3.99 per 100. That's 4 pence each instead of 85 pence each, and they do exactly the same job. They're also actually cheaper than the paper backed plastic fronted wallets that a lot of folk use, including dealers - which I just don't understand. |

Tis true !
No offense intended either.
I do think collectors take this storage lark a bit far. How long will most of us have our collection ? with luck 50 years? will they deteriorate much if kept in a dry place ?
Are most the programmes in boxes under the bed since the 1960s now full of holes and rust ? I don't think so.
Thing is if you are buying old programmes now the damage is already done but today we live a much drier life with central heat etc.
Care should still be taken but personally as long as they are safe I won't spend extra on museum standard storage. |
