I am used to turning up bits of interesting memorabilia, but I cannot recall finding a club commemorating their relegation before. This is a 1998 Doncaster Rovers phonecard produced with a report of their last league game. The report details the last post being played, a minutes silence and tributes being laid by fans. Can anybody else recall any other instances where failure was commemorated in a similar style?

In a similar vein and it is not a subject I know a lot about but I do know that back in the early 1900's Football Clubs issued "in memorium" cards to celebrate a victory and mock the losing club.

I know that they are highly collectable and I am sure some members have some examples in their collection.

Here is a link to one from the internet.

Yep, I've got an early 1900s 'In Memoriam' card from when Swindon knocked Palace out the FA Cup....weird

Pete's Picture Palace has a very (very!) unusual item from when Newcastle lost to Palace in the Cup in 1907 - I'll let him show it!

Oh, all right then Dorking.... Southern League Palace won 1-0 at League Champions-elect Newcastle on the 12 Jan 1907. A dispirited local produced this amazing piece of memorabilia on a kind of green vellum

The Palace v Newcastle thing is one piece of paper, printed both sides and folded twice, and measuring about 1.5" square.

Similar to what Martino mentioned, later in the Newcastle 1907 cup run Palace produced this postcard which also shows Fulham & Brentford dangling from a twig, we'd also beaten them and had the prospect of a visit from mighty Everton. (It fails to mention Rotherham County who we'd beaten prior to Newcastle).

Sadly, after a 1-1 draw at Selhurst, Everton won the replay 4-0. A total of 69,000 watched both ties.
