Seems like I'm the only one to be identified in Manori's "offer" Put a bid in as the programme didn't seem to be going anywhere, and lo and behold am outbid by an unknown. As these days you can't see the full ID of the bidders (they put asterisks in) I fail to see any legitimate reason for 'private auctions'. I wish ebay wouldn't allow them.

Oh dear, surely a schoolboy error from you here Auchinleckian?? The other bidders are kept private from you, you can see your own name in the list as can all the other bidders see their own names but not yours? Simples no?!?

That's why I was asking! I know that of all the folk who bid on any items I put up for sale I can see the first and last letters of their ebay name, and I know sometimes who's bidding anyway just by seeing those 2 letters. I honestly don't know, or understand why it doesn't work the other way?
