To be fair, they haven't mentioned the word 'rare' in their auction.

It's most likely that they have not put a decimal place to offer it for sale at £2.50.

They'll soon realise their mistake though.

It is a very rare and unique programme.
Villa lost the match 2-0 but were Champions because Ipswich lost to Middlesbrough.

Happy Days Very Happy

this might be a complete prick but it might just be a kid who doesn't realise.
why not give them the benefit of the doubt and try and be helpful and explain the truth to them.
they are not going to sell the items either way but wouldn't it be nice for once instead of being nasty and try to help somebody understand what they are trying to do.
it costs nothing but a few minutes of time to explain and possibly save somebody from making a fool of themselves.
this hobby is full of enough bitter people as it is!!!

Q: Hi, I've just browsed thro and found your item for auction. What special significance has this item that will command the kind of price you are asking for ? Best Regards rjwarpw6

A: To justify the value on this item, we have to recognise its rarity and it was the lst game of the season.... Also, the price has been recommended by another seller on Ebay! I hope this has helped your query. Cordially

Sherlock Was the other seller Manori?

In reply to treble although I've never done it myself, I've known quite a few people who have gone down the 'helpful path' as it were. explained to sellers the error of their ways, and all they have got for their trouble is a stream of abuse and threats of aggro. At least, Barrett, appears to have got a polite response, albeit a rather misled one.

I also contacted him and explained his eBay fees were more than the programme was worth.
Also provided him with links to a dealer who has 15 in stock and selling them for £3 each.
Who don't these people check out the market before selling ?
1 minute on the internet could of saved him about £4.

you should all have a warm feeling good sensation now having been helpful.
isn't it nice to be helpfull.
you never know you might find he doesn't get a bid and keeps the programme and decides for 99p he might as well buy some more and then we have a new collector in our midst

i always encourage a laugh.
this should be a fun hobby.
yours was the first tongue in cheek posting on this thread.
the ones before you were serious and heading off in an angry and winding up direction.

if i want an argument i will go and see my current wife.
she is fully qualified on having a good argument

Confused

I've looked again at all the comments in this thread and no one was getting angry, just everyone taking the mickey and having a laugh.

That's harsh. The modern programme isn't very tasty at all!

I give up trying to be helpful. Once there was a pre war Sunderland and the guy listed it as a folded sheet. I politely wrote that , pre war programmes had 16 pages. Did he think some pages were missing? What i got back was a load of sarcastic abuse. Sod him. Never again.
