Is anybody else having difficulty loading the live auction today? I registered last night, tried logging in many times today, clicked bid at live auction and the screen is just blank, turned the computer off and back on but still no luck, quite annoying as i was going to bid for a few lots that were on early and i've probably missed them now,

Thanks Matt, so its not just at my end then, i'm unable to load any of the other auctions they have on today on the site, no sound nothing its just blank, so it must be a fault at the salerooms end i presume, tried reinstalling flash but the test on the site says its fully working. oh well i'll keep trying for an hour or so and then off to the pub if no luck,

No sorry, what i meant to say was i have no sound, no picture, no lots coming up on the screen, nothing at all, just a blank white screen, but having checked the sportingold website for the live updates on results the lot i was most interested in failed to sell anyway so all is not lost, i will make an offer via email,

The auctioneer is just having a bit of good natured banter with the regulars, it is all taken in good humour and given back to him too. A good auctioneer needs to be entertaining.

The amount of people attending auctions is in the decline due to the internet bidding, but remember you cant view the items and get a good idea of true condition. A day at the auction is an enjoyable day out.

I bought a couple of lots of Arsenal wartime, a few pre war and a 36 final also a few bulk lots for resale at a later date.

So you were the one who out bid me!!!

Your £220 for the 36 final was a great price, I guess its a good idea to buy rare programmes now while the prices are low and in a couple of years reap the rewards when times get better.

Yes a very good price, I also had the benefit of viewing so could see the true condition, also less commission and no special delivery and packing costs to pay as I was there.

I'm currently laid up (again!) and this auction certainly kept me entertained yesterday. The banter came across well and was definitely different from the auctions i've attended over the years. Really chuckled at a few of the comments that were made.

Outbid on a few items, but still the money's there for the next auction.

Got 5 nice early 50's non league in the F.A.Cup proper, some Bury single sheet friendlies from the late 1960's, and two lots of Welsh rugby union programmes from the 50's. Mainly paid for by the Kilmarnock vs Dunfermline 67-8 league programme recently sold on ebay.
