Over 180,000 (yes one hundred and eighty thousand) Football Programmes for sale.
A great opportunity for a new business startup or indeed a current dealer looking to expand?
These programmes are shrink wrapped on 16 pallets in our warehouse.
They have been there for over 15 years, collated in our early years of trading where we simply purchased every bit of stock we could buy, from private collections, auctions, dealers and house clearances.
Anything pre 1970 was taken out and the rest onto a pallet in storage, once a pallet was full, we started on the next pallet and so on.
So, each pallet could contain multiple points of origin from all around the country.
When we say it’s a mix, even we don’t know what is properly contained?
What could they contain, well definitely a multitude of clubs from every league (will contain some non-league and other UK leagues) from the 1970’s until modern 2000’s.
Some of the more recent pallets will contain programmes from within the last few seasons, but at least 12 of the pallets have been in storage for over 10 years.
So, why are we selling?
Well until 4 weeks ago we had no plan to sell, in fact we had decided to stop purchasing for a while and start listing programmes from the pallets in storage.
We had even started negotiations with our current landlord about taking further space to expand, which were progressing well.
Then the bombshell…. after 18 years of being based in our premises in Kitts Green in Brimingham, we were served with a four week notice to vacate.
The owners of the storage facility have decided that all the large area’s that we rent, plus that of the weightlifting gym and a metal manufacturer are going to be broken down into small units for household rentals rather than large business spaces and we all have to be out (our contract states only 4 weeks’ notice needs to be given) by the 31st August.
Luckily enough we have already secured another site to move to in Coleshill (B46), not far from where we are now, but it’s smaller than what we have here, and we need to downsize and do it very quickly.
So, before we give ourselves time to think we have just said, lets put the programmes out there and see if we get any sensible offers.
Doing the most basic of maths, 180,000 programmes represent huge potential for profit.
And when we say 180,000 programmes, we are possibly closer to and maybe over the 200,000 mark, but we do not want to provide any false information so we aired on the side of caution with our approx. count.
So, if you have an interest, then please contact us privately if you have any questions or want to make an offer?
You will be responsible for collection/up-lift and they need all going by the 31st of August
I’ve took multiple pictures to give you an idea of what we have, what’s being offered and some of the programmes contained….
Ultimately, we don’t have to sell and have alternative plans off-site for storage and up-lift of the items, so we wont simply accept any offer.
However, any sensible offers will be considered.
We can send WhatsApp videos and further images if you require, just let us know:

You would probably be better trying to sell them by the pallet, you are seriously limiting your potential buyers by looking for £18k from one buyer.
I picked up 25k programme for £110, so £18k for 180,000 doesn't look like a great deal _________________ www.programmehut.com - The Internet Dealers

Appreciate the comments, however we do not need to sell, but it would help if they were purchased in one go with the buyer organising collection.
Selling a pallet at a time has no benefit to us as it means we will still need to take up additional storage solutions, selling them all in one go means less storage needed.
That alone helps us massively, meaning less logistics for us to sort and only approx another 30 pallets, 250,000 listed ebay items and 18 years of other gatherings to move.
It seems like you have picked up a bargain at less than 1p per programme, wow, so fair play, this is as we say, maybe an opportunity for someone to buy in bulk at 10p per programme, which even given your bargain of a price, is still very attractive for the mass coverage of clubs we are offering.
All i know is that when we set up nearly 20 years ago, we would have purchased this bulk lot instantly at the price listed as we spent 2/3 years buying all over the country to build a stock holding and it took some time, to have it all in one go, organise a HGV collection and drop off, job done, time for the pub, but each to your own.
Have a great weekend. |

My point was I'm more sceptical that there is anyone out there willing to spend £18k on programmes given the current market and the decline of the hobby/business.
Steve Earl has been trying to sell up for years and is no nearer getting out of the hobby than he was 6 years ago when he first advertised his business. _________________ www.programmehut.com - The Internet Dealers

You are very much on point with your comments, let's just see what happens as we are in the process of moving the lot within the next 2 weeks, either way its all having to be moved.
Have a great weekend. |

Aithough I sympathise with regards to your current situation, I see no need for the slightly coarse response to Grantham's point of view which undoubtadly is not too wide off the mark.
Its pretty much obvious that:
1. Nobody is going to shell out £18,000 on a collection of football programmes where there is no record of what you're buying. That's serious money and normally reserved for very high end individual items or pre war bound volume collections.
2 .I'm surprised that a company like yourself has no idea what's on these pallets except that they are post 1970.
3. Any buyer could not afford the time to catalogue each pallet, after all if you don't know what you've got, you cant sell it. Its took me three years to log my collection of 60000 non sheffield United programmes so that would make it the best part of 10 years to do that amount (180,000 to 200,000 for an indvidual. Its not feasible.
4. A large percentage will no doubt will be duplicates so the final figure will be somewhat less than 180,000.
5. No dealer I know is going to touch them, they look to move things on as quick as possible and already have buyers before they have the items.
6. You will have already cherry picked the best ones when you bought them or what would have been the point in purchasing them in the first place.
7. As Grantham aluded to, if anyone has 18 grand going spare, Football programmes aren't going to be top of the list, Mortgage deposit, Car, Holiday, or other investments.
8. Space is a precious commodity, I'm fortunate I have a factory, but the average person doesn't.
9. You've made it all sound quite simple, just hire a HGV and driver and everyone's happy.....who wants to do that?
10. One of the reasons that Grantham ended up with a great deal on his purchase was the very reason that no existing dealer wanted such a bulk quantity because of the logistics already mentioned.
Wish you luck in your quest to sell, but you're going to have go much lower than the asking price unless you're lucky enough to find somebody insane. _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/sharrowblade/sets

Have to agree there Sharrow.
As a programme collector I don't want to call 180k post-1970 programmes as worthless, but effectively that's what they are. The fact they've been sitting untouched for a decade or more kinda underlines it.
There will be a small percentage that are worth something to somebody but
if someone wants to wade through them to list and identify them to sell, it will take many thousands of man hours of effort for a very meagre return and even then, you'll still bin 175k of them.
You'll do the hobby a favour by binning them and save on the cost of storing them. _________________ https://www.flickr.com/photos/footballprogrammes/albums |
