England U21 v Czech Republic

I was at Turf Moor last night for the England U21 fixture. Great to see so many youngsters - I went with my nephew and his dad, both of them at their first international match.

Everyone was given a flag at the turnstile, so this created a great buzz for kids. What was really disappointing was...

No programme!

It's sometimes difficult enough getting enthused about under-age football unless you've a vested interest, so having an opportunity to identify the players on show would have been a definite prerequisite for this type of fixture. As it is, youngsters getting their first international fix have no clue as to who played, what clubs were involved, had an opportunity to look back at the pictures and read on each of the players in a programme.

Really poor show from the FA in this regards. Along with tickets bought online only on a QR reader by email, there's absolutely no record they have of being there (part from the obvious selfies).
