Scottish Junior Cup, Auchinleck v Bo'ness has fallen foul of the weather, which is a real pity as it would have pulled in a 4 figure crowd, and should have been a cracking game. Have already kicked the cat, and will spend the afternoon having a couple of pints of real ale down my local before embarking on a curry making session - always roast my own spices, grind them in a pestle and mortar, slow cook etc. It's a labour of love I'll share with a bottle of Merlot. What do other folk do when they're deprvied of being able to vent their emotions on a Saturday afternoon (I don't include Sundays in this because if you're watching football on a Sunday your clubs already sold it's soul to Murdoch) |

If I dont go (or like this weeked) we play on a Sunday as its our rivals I normally spend the day with Radio Five. I dont bet on football very often but if I do not have a game I have a little dabble to make the afternoon a bit more interesting. Today I have done Leicester, Birmingham, Bournemouth and Chelsea, so expect them to lose.
Today though its a mates 30th so a few of us are meeting this afternoon for a few frames of pool followed by a few more beers with others into the evening! |

When Rovers are away I usualy sit at home with Sky on getting all the goals as they come in.
Plus have the computer on Gas World to listen to the comentry from our game.
Mind you was glad I was out today as once again we lost.
On a few occasions when a home game has been postponed late. My mates and I have just had a session in the pub. The wife hates football so much that she never finds out that it is off so still doesn't expect me home till 8pm anyway. _________________ I am not gas, I am a Pirate.

So, how did it go? Had a small number, honest, of the Scottish real ale "Jack Frost" from the Houston Brewery, near Erskine. Very palatable, and to round the afternoon off, a "large goldie" double Grouse to those not in the ken.
Prepared the curry - a cauliflower and mushroom saag. Superb, so far. Cracked open, and here's where things may have slightly gone awry, a bottle of 16 byear old home made elderflower wine (my wife, bless her, came home with it last night from her Friday night wine club night in the village - 5 or 6 firends all get plastered at each others home on a rota basis every Friday) Got stuck into it, and poured my dearest a glass as well. She didnae like it. I wasn't that keen, tasted too much like a pale sherry for my liking, but wasn't going to turn up the opportunity of a cheap thrill for nowt, so drank hers as well. After that, I finished the bottle off...continued tomorrow, if I remember. |

Not gone to Sheff Utd today so have had another little bet, to make the afternoon a bit more interesting. Thought I would put it on here as it worked last time. Villa, Sheff United (yes I know they are playing Norwich, but we are dire away), Ipswich and Everton. Only small but at just over 6/1 I might see a return! |

Our game is off today and I am really happy.
I have been feeling very ill for the last few days and was going to miss my first match for a couple of years.
So just for once I am glad the cold weather is here. _________________ I am not gas, I am a Pirate.

Games getting called off all the time. I always feel for the travelling fans. Suffered a fair few times myself. A long trip to Burnley getting called off springs to mind! Also suffered at Portsmouth as well! |

Agree with you there Paulo.
I remember a few years back we played Hartlepool at home.
That's a long way to come and we were all very surprised when the game went ahead.
Trouble is the idiot ref abandoned it after 13 mins due to a frozen pitch.
If the pitch was ok at 3pm what could have changed by 3:13p?
I have never felt so sorry for the opposition fans as I did that day.
We went for a pint afterwards and found a few poolie fans in the pub. We just had to buy them a pint each, we felt so bad.
At least today we were playing yeovil so I doubt they had left their place as it wasn't too far to travle. _________________ I am not gas, I am a Pirate.

I went to Dagenham a couple of weeks ago, to "do the ground". It was their game vs Exeter where the floodlights failed at half time. Felt sorry for myself (as I live in Norwich) and the Exeter fans that day. To make matters worse my train got cancelled on the way home and my mates claim I cant count it in my 92! |

You lot are lucky if your game is off, I will be at the Walkers stadium freezing my nuts off for a couple of hours, still if we win who cares.
I also got my ticket for our Monday night game at Yeovil in a couple of weeks, hope its warmed up by then don't fancy, leaving Leicester at 1.30pm and getting there and its then called off, still its on Sky so we might be OK. |

that be me "the guy on ebay"
Its not been unknown for the city to destroy them in the past, the club are doing very low print runs for some unknown reasons...just 2900 for todays game, expected crowd 18,000 +
Sorry for your wasted journey, theres nothing worse, over the years, darlington shrewsbury (twice in the same season) and carlisle have all been postponed on arrival...nothing worse eh

Fans were really nice today, been kicked a couple of times at Cardiff when the fans had to mingle at the end of the game.
Cant belive how many fans are happy we put one over Man utd in the league cup.
Derby have been really good about it already offered fans that went a refund for there match ticket bus travel and a five pound gift voucher for the club shop. |

We have had 3 games postponed this year meaning my team have not played since boxing day, still, at least we are unbeaten in 2009.
I gamble on the football every week being very selective with my bets...However if the game is off I have some really flambouyant bets and watch Jeff Stelling and the boys. |

No game for me today as Norwich are out of the cup. I always seem to get this weekend off each season.
So another bet to keep me going:- Wins for Leicester, Scunthorpe, Sheff U and West Ham. |

The 'value' today is on Coventry to beat Torquay... 2.28 at the moment on Betfair which is a crazy price for a championship team vs a Conference team. I dont like to bet on the FA Cup, but I am very tempted to have a mid stake piece of that. |
