Morning everyone
Part of my Middlesex Wanderers collection contains a couple of programmes and an itinerary for the tour. I can’t find many programmes on eBay or other websites relating to Jersey and Guernsey, so can I assume that they are quite scarce? I know there are some collectors on here who specialise in football memorabilia in this field so would appreciate any opinion on these items. Many thanks as always
Holtie Thumbs Up

Spurs have played a number of games in Jersey and Guernsey. Friendlies in the 80's included matches against Northerners, Vale Recreation and Guersey with fairly easy to obtain programmes issued. They also played against Jersey and a Rothmans X1 where newspaper type programmes were produced that are more difficult to obtain. Finally they played a Jersey X1 on 8th May 1948 and a Guernsey X1 on the 12th. Not sure if a programme exists for Jersey but one was produced in Guernsey that is very difficult to obtain.

Here's a couple of programme covers from friendlies Derby County played against a Guernsey team during the late 1960s/early 1970s. I don't know anything about the background to the games though, I'll need to take a look at them to see if they contain any information about why the games were played.

Hi smk06 & Holtie

As a Guernsey guy (an old one at that) now living in Uk I can remember most of the Guernsey v Pro team matches from the 60s & 70s because I went to them. Clough had a soft spot for the place around this time, even if it was Taylor who took the full strength team as Clough didn't like flying I believe. at that time.
Scores were 6-1 & 5-0 resp. to the Rams of course and can remember getting hold of Willie Carlin giving me his tie ups as a kid & Hennessey's goal in what I think was his debut but more importantly how superb Mackay was, particularly in the 2nd game. Amazing player. Chucking it down all night, and have since been amazed at the thought of a 36 yr old guy throwing himself around in a friendly on a horrible February night.

Newbie to the site but very interested in 50s,60s & 70s Guernsey & Jersey programmes v pro teams only. Will pay stupid money for some and stupid money for hard copies of some too.

Thanks for that, always good to know the background to these games. The numbers on the front of the programmes might suggest many were printed for these games, but it took me a long time to get hold of them.

This one in Jersey. A 9-0 victory for Wolves for this one in 1972 for the 75 Anniversary of the Jersey FA.

Wolves returned nine years later and again won 9-0. Any one know if a programme was issued for the later game?
