Today a programme was brought to my stall at Newcastle under Lyme, where I trade on a Thursday with football memorabilia. This is a first timer for me
DECEMBER 6th 1919
versus
BIRMINGHAM CITY
intact but folded with some creasing, no writing and 1 inch rear on fold
some fraying at the edges
staple shows slight rust
not many of these about but is it auction or ebay, would like your comments regarding rarity and value,
Thank you[img][/img][img][/img] |

Good Luck Robert. You deserve this little gem of a find for all your hard slog on the market in wind hail rain and shine. I hope you get top end of the estimate for it. Good Luck. |

Thank you for your kind comments Ste. Another slow day on the stall but at least a few things were offered to me. Away tickets to both Ajax and Kaiserslauten together as a gift a poster , large size , for the game in Germany. I think this will end up at the Prestatyn fair in July. It is this that often keeps you going, especially when you stand out in all weathers for less than £20 profit. With the programme it is creep and go, but how will it end , who knows. But I will not lose any sleep over it. |

If the programme says that it is Stoke City v Birmingham City then it is a fake.
Neither team had the suffix "City" in their name in 1919. |

Goonerak you are quite right and something that I had missed.
Look at the team page and the teams are indeed Stoke and Birmingham.
Thank you, well spotted. |

Just a misuse of terminology, yep Stoke On Trent didn't become a city until 1925, the prog is right as I have the very same prog in my own collection, Stoke used the same cover style throughout the 1920's with just a change to surrounding advert and backcover advertisement. |

Thank you for your comments Andy. As a resident of the City for many years I should have realised the important date and the relevance to this early programme. |
