FAC Reserve players

Just a quick question to all the forum members.

Is it OK for the 'Big Teams' to play their Squad (reserve) players for the FAC ?

Wolves did it for a premiership match and was crucified on radio phone ins and in the press.

I think Mick McCarthy did it for the good of 'Wolves Football Club' but how can the press moan about his action & not complain about the teams being put out today.
