Like most forum members, I hate the new EFL Trophy. As a big Carlisle United fan, my club has a good(ish) history in the old JPT, reaching the final six times and winning it twice, also setting the record for the heaviest defeat in a final I believe. So I was outranged when the new format was announced. So I decided to boycott, even if we get to the final. I am also saving the money up I would use to pay entry into the fortress Brunton Park for this stupid competition and giving it to a charity of my choice, so the further Carlisle go the more money the charity of my choice will make. This also gave me another dilemma, if Carlisle got to the final I couldn't buy any merchandise, like badges, programmes and scarves. Then I thought, we won't get that far so I don't need to worry.

Then on Tuesday night, while I was on ebay I saw this badge. Oh no what do I do?, as a collector I want it but as a fan I have to stick to my rule. After 30 seconds debating I bought it and I now have to admit that I am a hypocrite.

Anyways enjoy the badge. Laughing

Kyle.

Feck it, nice badge and you're not contributing to or supporting the competition in any way. Enjoy!

i am sure we all yield at certain points. I once had an unsatisfactory purchase from an auction a few years when they under described an item significantly. At the time I vowed that was the last time they get money from me........until I saw items I needed a couple of catalogues later and then have relaxed my embargo quite significantly and frequently since then.

I see nothing wrong in your decision Kyle.
You have purchased an item that you liked regarding your club.
The EFL Trophy was screwed up by the ""Powers that be" and that is something that they need to deal with, not the fans.

...and it's a nice badge!!

Kyle you bloody hypocrite!
By purchasing this badge you're fully supporting the BTeams and League Three you swine.

I hope you're pleased with yourself matey.
It'll probably get the go-ahead now thanks to you.

PS. I've bought the "Newport / Wimbledon / Swansea / Plymouth" version of that badge myself!

Very Happy Laughing

I bought the issue for the away game at Port Vale and, disgusted by my hypocrisy, punished myself by only having sardines on toast for two nights straight.

As I don't have a copy of the game at Doncaster, I've already been to Asda and bought mackerel fillets to preempt my next bout of hypocrisy.....
