I found this photo in a bundle of press photos that I obtained recently.

There are no details on the back, but I believe it is West Ham v Aston Villa in the League Cup 18/1/89 at Upton Park. The flats give the ground away!

Paul Ince and Gary Strodder are the West Ham players and both played in that game, but who is the Villa player (assuming it is Villa)?

Sorry, the close up won't spin round the correct way!

Any help appreciated.

This was the Villa team if the game is correct, my money is on Stuart Gray out of that lot

Could be Kevin Gage he was short and stocky build but i thought he had curly hair, my money is now on GAge

I would go for Mcinally especially as a centre-half is tracking him.
I thought Gage had curly poodle-like hair.

I agree CNSOBU, it could be McInally.
He was my first thought, but didn't look like I remembered him from his playing days.
I've just googled images of him from his time at Villa and think the mystery is solved.
Gage did have a poodle style haircut.

Settled on McInally now. Thanks all.

Already moved most of the football ones on Pete, apart from a few Spurs which are going into my collection.
The bulk were movie photos and I have loads of them left which I'm drip feeding to the masses on Ebay Wink
