Genuine query. Looking at ebay, it look quite likely that there will be a Hardback version of the match programme produced for the 2016 FA Cup Final, as these seem to have been made for all the recent seasons.

Am I right in thinking that these are produced with the intention of being for those in 'Club Wembley' seats. And therefore the only way to get them is just to wait patiently till after the game and gradually they will appear as Buy it Now (or auction) items? Or can they actually be pre-ordered in that format?

Congratulations on getting through to the final. Thumbs Up

Perhaps this is the year of the unfancied teams.

Here is a thread from some time ago about hardback FA Cup final programmes.

http://www.footballprogrammece.....t=hardback

In past years it appears there have been 2 different hardback versions, one freely available to purchase from the Wembley store and one only available from Club Wembley (or similar) seating areas.

Thanks for the good wishes Bispham Thumbs Up

Thanks both for the advice. Will be in the Wembley Store early doors on the day stocking up on badges and programmes and other collectible tat so will try that initially

Doesn't ever look like a shortage on ebay for previous seasons ones even years later. Some seem to be Bobby Moore section versions.

Was 15 in 1990 and lived every game of the run, final and replay. Never thought we'd make the final again with all the money in the game amongst the 'big clubs' but we seem to have really gone for it this year (as the total expense of league form!!)

We've lost (I think) 5 semi finals since 1990 - League Cups to Arsenal 93, Liverpool 95 and 01, Cardiff '11, and FA semi to Man United 95, and I went to every one of those games, so about time we got to a final.

Will be in an absolute dream for the next 4 weeks, already flat out doing scrapbooks, scouring ebay for collectibles and raiding the club shop for anything commemorative. I am a bit of an OCD collectaholic of modern worthless stuff, and am absolutely in my element right now!

I can't be the only person on the forum who thinks like this!

For the semi final for example, there were 3 different ticket designs (luckily I bought 3 for the game anyway) but then there is the Bobby Moore lanyard, the press pass, 3 different official badges depending what part of the ground you were in etc!

I agree most people are just 'ticket and programme' and that'll do, but most on this site would want the Hardback Final programme if their team was in it.

Myself, for a final I have to have the first day covers, different versions of the ticket, the foam trophy, all the badges, keep a scrapbook, if they do a special labelled bottle of Palace ale or bottle of plonk, a rosette, flag, scarf (but not half-and-half) and anything else that comes along.

It is OCD, but my house is like a museum/shrine, and commemorative stuff is displayed all around it. What I get hold of for the final I will still have up in 30 years time (like I still have my 1979 Champions mirror, and loads of 1990 stuff etc). Days like these don't come around very often, so I try to hold onto as much as I can and keep it around me.

I wouldn't say I'm a hoarder or even an out of control collector - there is a small amount of moderation in what I collect, and it's all very tidy and orderly, and kind of done in a nice way.

I'd like to think that people like me are preserving the current day, which is the history in years to come. My son is 6, so he may well still have much of this stuff in 80 years time.

Oh and the mug, you've got to have the mug! Not to drink out of though, just to display!

And if any menus turn up, that'll be ace.

I suppose a commemorative pennant will also be nice, and if they do a replica shirt with the cup final embroidery on it, that is a must.

Oh and if by some miracle we go on and actually win it (not holding my breath) then I'd be compelled to buy loads of stuff all over again, but with 'winners' on it.

Never had that problem before of course unless you count the Zenith Cup.

I think I've got every Palace 'occasion' mug in mint unused condition since 1979. I don't even drink tea or coffee, but it's like some sort of weird obsession to get and display them all in chronological order!!

Steady on Dorking, it's a mug's game. The fact that you are honest about this means that there is hope! I can thoroughly recommend Stelios Krossis as the country's leading psychotherapist in OCD. He has helped many and is a regular on TV in the series 'The hoarder next door.'

LOL. There was one of those about a woman who had to buy everything she could find with ladybirds on. Her house looked like a ladybird colony!
In all seriousness, this will only last a few more weeks, then it's back to normality. Smile

Couldn't hack it if this was a regular occurrence!

An update. Went to the Wembley Store at 11am on the morning of the game, they didn’t get any to sell this year. Guy serving new about them from previous years (and that they were £20 before) but said this year they hadn’t been given any to sell.

Been on ebay, little bit confusing as there are both silver and gold spine versions. Seems to be limited to 2300 issues overall, so bought one of each.

Having looked at loads of ebay listings, aside from the Silver and Gold difference, there are multiple variations - Club Wembley, Bobby Moore Club, and the Royal Box version which has NEITHER Club Wembley or Bobby Moore Club on the numbered insert.

Headache! Good luck to anyone wanting the entire set!! Madness!

On the positive, there was only one ‘official stadium badge’ for the Final, rather than the four different ones I got for the Semi.

And I've 'saved' a fortune by Palace not being in the Community Shield or Europa League! Wink

Have literally lost count of the number of match badges I have got for the Final overall. Until I get some more coin pages for my badge folder to hold them all, I won’t know what the final total was, but I’m guessing I’ve got 40ish!

Must be half a dozen different lanyard cards for all the different restaurants and corporate parts of the ground. Will just try and get one nice one rather than be a completest, as it's bordering on infinite variations!

Think I've worked out the hardback programmes for the 2016 final

/500 copies , 3lions/England logo on cover (Royal Box)

/2300 copies 'Club Wembley'

/1800 copies 'Bobby Moore Club'

So in total, something like 4600 copies.

All have a silver spine. Those that look like a gold spine are just a camera flash effect

But the burning question is, WHO is actually producing them as against the blaggers on ebay looking to mug everyone.

I would be willing to purchase some but will wait till the madness dies down and they are a sensible price.

I purchased my usual 2 copies at Wembley and on the way out someone had put 3 copies on a wall and just left them-all in an unopened condition and there was no one around to speak too so now I have 5, if anyone wants to get in touch to claim them write to me telling me where they were left! Laughing

Loads of people who get the nice seats aren't dyed in the wool collectors like you or me Leslie. Good on you though.

I picked up 8 of the free flags just from seats next to me as I left, could have had a hundred if I'd bothered going round the empty rows of seats, going rate is £2 - £3 (albeit you wont be able to give them away in a few days!)

Didn't see any hardbacks in the cheap seats LOL (£85 still wasn't 'cheap' by the way FA, especially as a kids ticket for my 6 year old son next to me was just £10 cheaper at £75!)

I think it'll only take a few days for the prices to calm right down on most stuff, albeit if you want some items like the lanyards, then now is the time as these are less likely to be relisted

ur just trying to trick me to tell where the wall was so u could Sherlock
The wall was part of the stadium as you come out and had barriers attached to it just by the car park-so get out your stadium map and start searching Laughing
Anyway Martino you will have to get in line as there have been another 56 prior sob stories telling me it was theirs!.

Let's move on now...........................

I shall be hoping the same dope who left them there will do same for the Charity Shield!
