Oxford Vs Tottenham (Smithson Test) 1974/75 - postponed

I see the Rodney Smithson cancelled testimonial sold on EBAY yesterday for 349, does any one know for sure if the rumour that less than 10 copies exist of this programme is true (in which case I'm guessing this makes it the rarest post war programme?)

I think it's pretty rare but not sure where that rumour comes from. I have seen 2 in 10 years of collecting. The first one sold around 8 years ago for about the same price.

A programme from this match failed to sell in the January Sportingold auction. It was described as generally good with an estimate of £530 - £550 (lot 108)

I have a funny feeling it was the one on eBay as his other items also failed to sell in the same auction.

I'm not 100% certain as to why the match was cancelled but I know that all the programmes for the game were destroyed apart from a small amount.

The one that sold on Ebay is the one from the sporting gold auction.

In my 13 or 14 years of collecting Oxford programmes I have seen this programme at least 4 times on ebay, I was lucky enough to get my copy from another source. My copy is actually the picture on the oxprogs website.

I see the programme has appeared again on Ebay, still a gap in my collection but a little too close to Xmas for me to bid this time round
