Now that Everton's application for a new ground has been thrown out, the subject of ground sharing has cropped up again.

The heart say's no but for economics reasons must say yes.

The cost of building the ground, the day to day running of a stadium only used once a week.

Football clubs, especially in the premier league must join the real world.

What other business could run up debts without the banks calling for money. Perhaps its being sponsered by Barclays helps.

Over to you, fellow forum members....................

Its a total 'no-brainer' Ground sharing is the way forward and any fan who bleats on about tradition, rivalry etc needs to take a long hard look at themselves and see the irony in their whinging.

I for one was over the moon the new Stadium plan for Everton got thrown out.

But as for ground-sharing, it just would never ever happen on Merseyside.

Although it would make good business sense, the fans dont want it and 99% of people at Everton dont want it. It's just our CEO who keeps pushing for it even though he knows deep down nearly all Everton and Liverpool fans dont want it.

Agreed - no Liverpool fans want to share and as for Evertonians well I will let them speak for themselves. As for debt......untill the Americans took over and put the cost of buying the club onto my club, we owed nothing. Know its 400 million. In the USA you can load 30% of the cost onto the club but over here just throw the lot on. Imagine buying a house and telling the bank to pay the mortgage for you for 25 years and once repaid you will keep the house and keep any profits. I may as well have bought the club myself and put the debt on, its just a farce.
