On my regular search on Ebay i come across more and more of these teamsheets that , i guess are supposed to be "official" press sheets given out free before a game. Does anyone think someone somewhere is just knocking these out on a computer.
I mean it wouldn't be difficult and there seems a ready market willing to pay £2 a time (incl.post).
I just can not believe that all of a sudden all these teamsheets from the 80s and 90s have just turned up in fantastic condition. At the end of the day what do you need?
A club badge, team line ups (easy to get hold of) and the date of the game. I think some people are just taking the Michael out of collectors.

I think most teams fans know what their clubs Official Teamsheets look like so, consequently, it shouldn't be possible to pull the wool over most collectors eyes.

I'm not so sure. I'm really talking about stuff from the 80s and 90s that until a year ago were rarely seen now all of a sudden there are hundreds of them about. With all respect how would i know what a Rotherham or Sheffield Weds, teamsheet should look like? But these are two i've seen for sale v Sunderland.

You might be right I suppose. For every collector who knows the real stuff from their own team (I think I do after 40 years) there must be dozens who don't - and the away fixtures must be a landmine.

Well lets face it, they usually smell a bit old !! - the black and white Liverpool ones from 70s - 90's god knows where they get the paper from , it was so not like paper, but you couldnt just photocopy them. Thing is, i just bin any b/w ones i could photocopy as i reckon if i could do it, so could anyone for non LFC ones - rather not sell them. But thats the collector rather than the profiteer speaking.

That's interesting. I wonder how many more teams do this.

Newcastle put their home and away team sheets on their offical site. However if someone was to print out the t/s from their game at Cardiff the other week, you could tell it wasnt an original if you'd seen a Cardiff t/s as they are printed on both sides... Which i guess goes back to the original point of the thread though!!

I Started collecting teamsheets 3 seasons ago for homes and 2 seasons ago for aways.
For Home games MCFC send me out a teamsheet the day after each game FOC
For away games 99% of the time i just send an email the week leading up to the game and they either request an SAE or just post them out to me FOC. also 99% of the time we manage to get one from the ground H & A FOC.
the only teams which will not respond to emails are
Manchester United, Portsmouth, West Ham, Liverpool (Although i have a new contact for Liverpool this season so may get more luck). also unsure of Wolves & burnley as they are New this season.
the teams i know of which you can download PDF online are Wigan, Birmingham, Liverpool, Sunderland but like you say these are far from the originals.
