First time in donkey's years I've missed two consecutive games, and it's been the two biggest games in our history,b ut as one was to visit mother down in Derby, I can claim diplomatic immunity.
However, as the game kicked off at 1.30 on Saturday, and there was NO coverage of it on English radion - took mother out to Cromford in the afternoon (brilliant second hand bookshop there, which is why we go) - I was like the proverbial cat on a hot tin roof. As I steadfastly refuse to have a mobile phone, and have done so since a year last September, I can't keep in touch with pals at the game.
Haven't known any sensation like "not being there" it was awful. However, we won 4-3, and the footbal in the first half when we led 3-0 has been described as superb by numerous commentators north of the border, so that's us into the 3rd round now.
We will expect to take a well into four figure support to Stirling Albion on Novermber 28th. If anyone fancies the game, give me a pm as I'll have space in the car.
Match reports, and the excellent Talbot forum ( as irreverant as you'll find anywhere) can be found at auchinlecktalbotfc.com - and I post under TFW (Talbot's Fvaourite Welshman)
