Post subject: Football Programme Case Study
Reply with quote

Hi guys,

I've searched the internet and this seems the best place to ask. I am a final year Sports Journalism student, and am particularly interested in football programmes.

With a case study needed for my final year studies, I thought the perfect idea was to look into the existence of the football programme, the evolution and what the future holds for it. Saying this, I am looking for opinions and experiences from collectors such as yourselves. I am just wondering, would there be any of you out there who would be happy to do some interviews with me, either in person or over the phone, in the coming weeks?

Along with this, I have also written some questions below, which would help my research significantly. If you'd be kind of enough to answer these, it would be especially helpful.

Maybe people have come on here asking similar things before, so apologies if this seems like deja-vu!

The questions are:
How long have you been a collector?

Just what is it about football programmes that you find so interesting?

What makes a good programme?

Some clubs have tried to introduce online editions of their programmes. How do you think these have been received and could they ever take over from the hard copies?

Do you think fans will ever fall out of love with matchday programmes?

Thankyou for your time and if anyone would be kind enough to help me with these questions (and possible interviews) I look forward to hearing back.

Ryan

Think it's a little unfair to call this lazy journalism. This is a case study, so someone in the world may have done something like this before. I apologised in my original post in case this did seem like a repeat post, but I personally know of nobody who has done this topic.

If there are any people who do have a couple of minutes spare and wouldn't mind giving a few brief answers, it would be hugely appreciated.

PastPirate, it would probably be around a 15-20 minute conversation.

Hi Ryan,

Don't worry about the replies, some of the guys just occasionally come across a bit cynically, that's all. I'll answer your questions via email or PM if you like.

Cheers.

ha, I knew I never dreamt it. I am nice to new forum members. I just wonder why kids can't get a proper job nowadays. Everyone has to go to Uni. By the time these kids have left, most Greeks their age have retired. Very Happy
We talk about no youngsters interested in the hobby. I wonder what Ryan thinks of us old farts and the hobby ? I'm sure he'll get a ton of help from the forum. Good Luck

I did my Uni thesis 4 years ago on how "new media" and "old media" combine and contrast and the pros and cons for both clubs and supporters.

If I can be of any help, drop me a PM.
