A number of items I obtain are just compulsive buys , not programmes but tickets and photos and such . If I like it and the price is right I'll buy it. When I'm busy I have no time to sort them and stuff them in a box. I've just had an enjoyable hour or so looking at things I forgot I ever had. It's amazing, like looking at someone else's collection. It's a bit worrying because one or two I had no recollection buying at all. Sad
Anyone else buys things and forget they had it ?

Sometimes I buy stuff just because I fancy it and enjoyed looking at it and then winning it on ebay. But then when it comes, I sometimes just put it to one side without even opening the envelope. Can sometimes be weeks before I feel in the mood to open it and properly look at it, but then get more enjoyment from it

I found an old scrap book of the Manchester United v Benfica 1968 final

An old lady, a friend of the familly gave it to me years ago because she knew I was into collecting football stuff.

Her Son who was deseased had made the scrap book full of interesting press cutting's and pictures of the match at the time. When he was 15.

Sadly she's passed as well now.

Found it in an old box I had totally forgot I still had it.

Some years ago I was bored and looking through ebay. Came across a bundle of about 20 Chelsea homes from about 2001/02. Don't know why but I bid on them and bugger me if I didn't go and win the item. Parcel arrived and I threw it in the loft unopened. A couple of years later I came across the parcel, put them back in ebay. Sold them for a slight loss and didn't even open the parcel, just changed the label on the front and mailed it out.

Some adolescent Birmingham lad's scrapbook covering West Midlands football circa 1931.
No idea whatsoever how I acquired it or where or, more importantly, why.

It's obvious, though, that he has a passion for the Villa and very little time for Wolves.

Interesting little curio.

Do you do that, too?
Seriously - I'm a wee bit relieved I'm not the only one who does!

ha ha me as well.

I'll come in after a long day at work ...go on ebay ...then something will attract my eye whether it's live auction or bin ....sometimes i'll put a bid in and forget all about it until the postie comes a few days later with an envelope.

I'm excited like a kid at xmas because I don't know what present I'm opening.

I like that feeling Razz
