Have picked up some fantastic Barcelona programmes over the last 10 years on trips to the city. On my first visit I picked up 8 bound volumes from 49-50 through to late 50's, for 800 Euro (then about £550) They had the rare friendlies such as Burnley 49-50 and Hull 51-2. For years, I managed to get some great finds in the collector's shops I'd discovered there, and also at the collector's markets at the weekends. The 40's and 50's programmes were always easier to pick up than the 1960's ones for some strange reason.
Sports Programmes used to regularly have such programmes on their monthly auctions for £15 minimum. Don't know how many they sold at that price as I never managed it, getting usually between £7 and £10 depending on opposition. Think yours will be about a fiver at the most, if you can get it, but will probably find it difficult to sell as Barca's older programmes peaked pricewise about 3 or 4 years ago.

Thanks for that, you seem to know your foreign programmes what do you make of this one it was in the same bundle, however i dont think there would be much demand for it over here.

South African - Magnet Cup Final 1960
Durban City V Ramblers

£3-£4 do you reckon ?

i Have been abroad a lot over the years and i must say i have never come across a place selling programmes and i have looked, you obviously have a better nose than me

Thanks
Martin

Any chance of sharing your source of programmes abroad? I too have never stumbled across anything in Barcelona, saying that I don't think me misses would be impressed if I did!

Holtie, if you ever find yourself in Valencia, there's a bric a brac shop near the market, selling mostly postcards and books. I found a small pile of mostly 70's Valencia progs in there. I know they're not worh much, but I bought one as a souvenir, 73/74 season, Valencia v Barcelona on Boxing day. Paid 3 euros for it, as the bloke wouldn't budge on price, but just bought it for myself, rather than to make money.

Don't mind sharing the information about Barcelona. Here are the places I go to, albeit I don't have names, and it helps if you know the area around Las Ramblas as well.
Heading up the Rambla from the port towards Placa Catalunya, about halfway up on the right hand side you'll see a courtyard with a lot of restaurants, and this called Placa Real (as in Real Madrid) There are collectors markets in there on a Sunday morning and a number of stalls have have football items, especially Barca season tickets and membership club cards; Spain 82 World Cup memorabilia; 1950's Barca and Espanyol postcards; Barca players badges by the score, and others. There's also another market down at the bottom of the Rambla opposite the dock where I've picked up items in the past.
Back up to Placa Real - if you cut through alleyways either side of "Les Quinze Nits" restaurant (if you're there, try it, it's superb, and cheap, but cordon bleu Catalan food). You'll come to a long street that crosses that part of town, and you're looking for a street called Banys Nous I know how to find it being there often enough, but you'll probably need to ask from there - it's very near to a backpackers hostel/bar. This street is crammed with collector's shops, and it's here I picked up the bound volumes. There's about half a dozen that regularly have goo football items in them, including programmes, and always barter as it's worth it.
The shops all open at differing times from morning to late at night, and it usuaully takes three or four visits to ensure you get them all!

From the Rambla again, if you take a right turn off again onto the same street where Banys Nous runs off, you head up to the seat of local government. It's a big square with the Catlaonia government buildings, and there's nearly always a demo there! On the opposite end of the square there's two roads full of shops leading out of it. Take the left hand one, and about 100 metres on the left there's a small collector's shop, and this guy has some superb football memorabilia, but since I started buying programmes off him he's mysteriously put the prices up (Barca fans don't collect programmes, so shopowners like this will have had them for years)

There are other street collector's markets, and you may be able to google these?
