I wish people would take more care when posting programmes. For the third time this year i have had to go to the sorting office to collect my programme and pay a surcharge on the item as the numpty hasn't put enough stamps on the bloody envelope. I even had a catalogue posted to me last year where the sender couldnt even be bothered to put a stamp on the envelope. The catalogue stayed with royal mail. I am tempted in the future not to pay the surcharge and report the item as missing and claim back my costs by paypal, that will teach the senders to put the right stamp on.....................rant over but why should i go to the expense of getting to the sorting office and pay a fine, just because some plank doesnt put the right stamp on the envelope............................................................................

Another trend by the post office these: I pay the right amount that the have quoted when It is just under the cusp of going over to the next amount upwards... but when it gets to the other end the recieiving office put a surcharge for not correct postage....

Whenver it is on the cusp now I pay the higher amount.... better that tha losing a customer and then having to owe the 1.20

It is annoying.

This normally happens when the numpty is trying to make a bit more out of the deal...so they dont put enough postage on the package...even though they have charged you.

I had one recently where the chancer re-used packaging what had already been re-used . He then put on two unfranked stamps that looked shocking. No real surprise that the Royal Mail Revenue Protection militia rejected it.

I sent him an email pointing out the error of his ways and I even went to the expense of sending the whole packaging back to him in the slim hope of him reimbursing me...........never heard a squeak from him.

I got a card through my door a fortnight back, again, saying "insufficient postage etc, we need £1.09 etc"

Went down to my local sorting office and paid the money. Received envelope and thought "nowt wrong with this" So went next door into the PO and asked the Post Master to check it and he couldn't understand why it had been subject to a surcharge. Back to sorting office, advised them of conversation with PM and got money back...and it's not the first time it's happened either.

Typical of a huge organisation, and no accountability anywhere. It's that bugger Wullie's fault!

I've had the same

In the last month i have 3 people on ebay jumping up and down because they've had to pay the obligatory £1.09
On EVERY occasion i take EVERY envelope to the post office and have them weighed and measured to make sure they are correct

Clearly the Post Office is having a purge and as usual they are fornicating it up

By the time i get the bollocking on ebay the surcharge has been paid and the envelope has gone into the bin
Even if it hadn't it's more trouble than it's worth to sort it out with the post office

It leaves a sour taste and leaves me with no illusion why the Post Office has gone into decline
Too expensive and minimal customer service and no confidence in reliability

And that's doing it correctly
Once you start moving on to third hand envelopes and second hand stamps you really are asking for trouble

It was the cause of my one and only bad feedback, that and the fact that I was dealing with a total arsehole of a buyer. I never accept a first class stamp offer from the P.O now,I insist on paying a minimum of 90p for a large letter.

BTW I received a small letter yesterday which would have been ok with a first class stamp and it had a 90p large letter stamp on it,so another experienced seller who has also been bitten.

Bought one of these a couple of years ago when the Post Office introduced there "Scam" of turning a 6mm thick "Letter" into a "Large Letter".

eBay item number:150823408904

Every collector should have one.

That won't solve the problem we have, the problem is, that we get it weighed and sized and it still comes back as insufficient postage.

If you receive an envelope with an unfranked stamp on do you strike through it with a pen like Wullie does? Laughing

My goodness, there must be thousands of stamps that never get franked.

You'd think RM would try and do something about it. They must be losing a fortune.

I never realised people sold them on Ebay.

Have a look at this lot.

Am I missing something on this particular listing ?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/24-x.....0964207239

Surely they would cost just £12 to buy from any Post Office.

Confused

God bless the Post Office and it's inability to frank envelopes properly. Have sent hundreds of them back through the post over the last few years, and recycled envelopes as well. Whatever your views on unfranked stamps, surely it's only an idiot that would not recycle perfectly usable envelopes? Why pay an unnnecessary 50 pence or more for a new hard backed envelope when you only need to put a sticker over the old address, and you're ready to send?

To those who seek the moral high ground on the issue ask yourselves "Why?" It's not breaking any law, it's saving those who receive them money on postage, and it's recycling. What could be better?

Have sent many dozens of items in such envelopes to collectors on here over the years, and not one of them has ever said "I'd rather have a new envelope and 1st class stamp please" rather than foregoing the postage charges. Indeed, am often thanked for it.

Second hand toilet rolls? I'll leave that to the Mancs. Laughing Laughing

Looks odd to me.
The majority of unused stamps on ebay are been sold by office staff who like to top up their poor pay Shocked
