When Was The First Charity Shield ?

Always wondered that, might have seen it somewhere but for some reason I forget. Anyone know the details and perhaps a value ?

I have a war time programme from a match between the War League winners and the War Cup winners - Arsenal v Wolves I think but that wouldn't be recognised would it.

Some great data there James.I was at the 1963 C/S Everton v Manchester United a 4-0 win for the Blues remember it so well one of the first games i attended at Goodison Park as a then impressionable 14 year old Evertoneian.
