A weekend date and a slightly earlier start for this long established event held at the Royal Victoria Station hotel, Sheffield. There are NO Football League fixtures on Saturday 28th December but we will be starting half an hour earlier than usual at 10.30am to give those who want to shoot off to a Non League game a little extra time to do so.

I should also bring to your attention the fact that the hotel now charge £5 for car parking. It may be worth while using city centre car parks or public transport.

The seven exhibiting dealers are:

Mick Brodie – Former proprietor of the programme shop on Leppings Lane, Wednesday fanatic Mick still retains a comprehensive stock of the clubs programmes from pre-war right up to current season issues.

Mick Hewitt – Undeniably Yorkshire’s largest dealer. Mick makes no secret of his Leeds United allegiance but his professionalism and full- time standing within the business ensures he will offer a huge selection of programmes from ALL the Counties clubs.

Programme Promotions / footballprogrammes.com – represented by fair co-organisers Elaine and David Allen. Over 1,500 excellent condition 1960s programmes available at £2 each - a completely different selection from last year as are the 1,000 plus Non League programmes from £1 each. Over 500 European Competition programmes at £2 each. PLUS a fine range of over 700 pre 1955 programmes all in pristine condition, NO writing. None of which are listed on our website. Comprehensive current season, firsts & lasts, vintage magazines etc… Something for everyone at this stand!

Sportingold – Proprietor Chris Williams represents the hobby’s largest auction house. Pick up a catalogue, browse some straight sale antique stock (which I understand will include some choice Sheffield clubs’ and other scarce local interest items!) Chris will also be happy to discuss the possibilities of buying/selling at future auctions etc…

Colin Boulter – East Midlands based Colin has been involved in football programmes for well over 40 years now. Great stock boxes of all the local clubs and bargain bundles a particular strength. Has not missed the post Christmas Sheffield fair at the Royal Vic for well over 25 years!

Barry Swash – West Midlands based Barry aka Bazzabaggies on the forum offers a wide array of vintage programmes and memorabilia from pre war to the 1960’s.

PM Publications – Former Programme Monthly editor and co-organiser of this event John Litster offers his vast array of PM back issues plus the recent editions from the new publishers too. Stockist of bespoke programme binders, football history books and a selection of programmes from his huge archive.

An attendance of around 150 is commonplace during the 3 hours the event is open and a comfortable bar area is at everyone’s disposal for a drink / sit down / chat at what has been a frenetic fair, particularly during the first hour! As admission is FREE you can pop in and out of the room as often as you like.

The Christmas Sheffield fair at The Royal Victoria Hotel has been an ‘ever present’ in the programme fair diary for almost 30 years now – possibly the longest running fair without a change of venue ever?

As usual I am happy to bring along anything from the www.footballprogrammes.com website which you may like to view. A number of collectors also ask me to bring along orders of the recent big match finals, England homes and aways to save on postage and ensure MINT condition. Due to space constraints in the vehicle and the fact there has not been a Sheffield fair since the ‘end of season big match period 2013’ if anybody wants any of these please let me know so I can put them aside for collection at the fair.

If there is anything you want email me on [email protected] by Monday 23rd December at the latest please.

Looking forward to it.

If any of the dealers has any pre 1970 Yorkshire non league programmes it would be appreciated or any pre 1984 Barnsley Reserves.

Thanks
