Seen this shirt on ebay several times now. I bid £20-£25 on the item to test the water. Everytime I do this there is a 'counter bid' of £40. Yet the shirt is relisted over and over. Any opinions on this?

Nothing untoward I would suggest.

The seller has a buy it now price of £44.99.

You bid £20-£25 which the seller does not accept but he then tells you that you can have it for £40 if you want.

You can reject his new, lower, price and perhaps 'up' your offer to 30 quid or so. However, if £25 is the maximum you are prepared to pay, then just keep offering that amount each time he relists it. You never know !!!

Senior82 suggests a good strategy. If you use hammersnipe, it bids automatically 10 seconds before the auction ends (3 free bids per week) and, if there's no-one else, you should get it. Good luck!

Item is a buy now and seller simply wants more, keep your eyes open for one from another seller on eBay would be my opinion, if you dont want to pay the £40.
